little clunking noise i've had for a while in the rear suspension area of the M, i figured it out.

it's been bothering me, and i've checked everything twice over but couldn't figure it out.

i took the wheel off, trying to make sure caliper and discs are bolted tight, and what do you know.

the two little screws holding the rear disc to axle hub were lose.
and there were lots of brake dust, so i took it further apart, re-lubed the caliper pins, and re-adjusted the sidebrake shoes.  i think somehow the sidebrake shoes and rotors were touching over bumps, making that clunking noise.

now it's all good!

It's a little box you put them in to remove the moisture.  When you sweat the electronics get moist and over time they can damage the circuits.  So to make them last as long as possible humidifier is worth it.
Must be filled the those packs that you get with electronic equipment

Kind of.  It has a little fan and a battery, you charge it via USB then run the box for an hour.

Weight-training/boxing/wrestling/mma shoes from a supplement shop that's going out of business - $150 for $50.  Comfy as hell in the gym, great support for squatting and leg presses, plus they look funky as hell!

Bought a new GPS, a Garmin Nuvi 66LMT.  I looked around at quite a few of them, this was one of the models that fit the bill.

https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/prod147610.html

Amazon.ca has it for $235, gpscity.ca has it for $215.  I get home last Thursday and thumb through the flyers.  I saw it in Staples for $199.  When I went to Staples website, I got a pop up saying sign up for email flyers and get $10 off when you spend $100 or more.  Signed up, got my coupon code and ordered it from them for $189.

Even better, it was around dinner time on Thursday when I ordered it, it arrived Friday just after lunch.

I used it on Saturday.  It works great.  I like the bigger screen.  The lane assist for large highway interchanges is a great feature.

Carbon fiber dragon boat paddle, 412 grams. Almost half the weight of a wood version. Held off buying one for years, finally made the plunge with race day coming up.

My Dell Inspiron 1525 (from Dec 2007) picked up a virus a couple of months ago, can't remove the virus.  And there are many things that are wrong with it, touchpad no longer works, battery lasts 15 min, 1 usb port is broken.  So I figure it's time to replace it, and let the dell be something to stream movies off of, or something for the kids, whatever.

I am quite picky with laptops.  I wanted something high quality, withing budget, light (14' or smaller), and well thought out.

Must have:

HDMI
Backlit keyboard (yes I type a lot at night, especially in the bedroom when my wife/kids are sleeping)
At least 4th generation Intel i5 processor
At least 8gb of ram
SSD drive
Under $1000 (with tax)

Bought an off lease Lenovo X230 for $540 (with tax)

http://www.laptopcloseout.ca/lenovo-thinkpad-x230-2

Did not have SSD hard drive, so I bought a Samsung 250gb ($158)
Only had 4gb of memory, added an 8gb stick ($65)
Had no HDMI, (but mini display port), and no optical drive.  He took $20 off, and sold me a Lenovo Docking Station that had a DVD burner, HDMI, with other ports, and another AC charger. ($135)

So grand total $898.  I will play around with it tomorrow, installing the new hard drive, and upgrade to windows 10.

Nice set up.  Hopefully the original lessee removed all the Lenovo junk from it.     So how will you install W10?   Install first then clone the drive?  To make sure you get the free W10 licence.

^ The Thinkpads have always been clean. No superfish. I'd never buy consumer line stuff...what a cutthroat business that one is.

Just got a Raspberry Pi computer today.   pretty neat gadget, planning to use it as a 'net interface for my TV

What's the plan on the software side? I am curious.

I have a mini htpc upstairs too but it is a core i3 thing with Windows 8 etc. So a full computer, albeit slow. Flexible but as always I'm curious if I can miniaturize further.

Has a Debian clone on it. There is a media server available,Kodo.  Next week I'll put a spare SSD in a USB enclosure and set up to boot from that, no an SD card.  And for about the 4th time in my life struggle to get SAMBA working as it says on the tin.

As for your machine  I have been thinking of getting an Intel NUC ( with I5 and an nice big M2 SSD ) for my next pc.

Installing the SSD was more complicated than I thought.  I tried to connect the SSD to the laptop with a sata to USB cable, so I could prepare the drive  Wouldn't install the device driver.  After some brainstorming.  I connected the SSD to the desktop temporarily for a second, and formatted it.  Then I put it in the laptop to install Windows 7 from USB.  Didn't recognize windows 7 on the stick.  Even though I used it before.  After some researching, turns out one of the USB ports can be used to boot from.

As for W10, all of the computers in my house are awaiting for it to be installed, the notification is there.  I assume, when using the key of the Lenovo, the same will happen.  If not, I will figure something out.  Not worried.

In the Device Manager there are still a few "?", not sure what they are just yet.
