Thanks guys! Levelled it out today, wasn't too bad, though it was up around 100F with the humidity. I focused mostly on getting the area behind the playset level so it'll be ready for the shed, the area around the playset I wasn't too concerned about getting perfect.

That looks great!

Interesting, I've never seen those before, they look like they'll do the trick. Pricey, but if it saves a bunch of work it's worthwhile.

Great work there, Firm.  My kids are (sadly) outgrowing that kind of play equipment, but they would have gone nuts to have one of those in the backyard.  Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of that set playing with your little ones!!

Yeah, it doesn't last long, does it.  My girl is 11 now, and doesn't really have that much interest in play structures any more.

-but-

She is developing quite an interest in culture and history, however, so we've been spending at least a couple days every week this summer going to museums and galleries and other cultural locations.  It's been fun.  I'm enjoying this new side of her - she wouldn't have had the patience to do a museum when she was younger.

Well I ordered 6 of these that came to $130, and then a drill bit, total cost was around $150.  But I won't have to drill into the foundation, dig up the driveway, or try to secure it to big patio stones.  So while it isn't cheap, none of the other options were much cheaper and were a whole lot more labor intensive.  Not to mention if the specs are true, it'll be much stronger and cleaner looking than any of the other options I was thinking.

Yeah, mine are 6 & 2, so they're prime age for this kind of thing....Once they're done I'll take it down and put another, or a bigger, shed  ;D

Are you drilling into concrete? If so, I would suggest renting (or buying) a hammer drill. I recently had to drill some small holes in my concrete foundation and I thought the bit that was supplied with the tapcons would work. However, my normal drill was useless. Rented this unit https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/tool-and-vehicle-rental/p.te30-combihammer-electric.02015.html with the appropriate sized bit and the holes were done in minutes.

Neighbor has a hammer drill that I'll be borrowing, but shouldn't be as bad because I'm drilling into pavement and not concrete.

Shed's up, took a good 6-7 hours to build with just my 6 year old helping, but it seems like a good quality unit. I was a little worried about having just a gravel base, but so far so good.

Finally had the time and energy to put up the carport I bought almost a month ago.  Full 8 hour job split up between two days.  First time using self tapping screws/bolts.  Was about 20 short of finishing the job but luckily my neighbour had a box and was able to finish.

Used an asphalt anchor that is supposed to be good for up to 1,500 pounds a piece, put 6 in.  Do have to buy some better bolts for anchoring them, right now the bolts I bought are too long, but they are in and lined up so won’t be moving anytime soon.

I don’t always put together something big, but when I do I make sure to talk to my wife like she is an idiot when doing it.  LOL, she is a saint for putting up with my crankiness during such builds.

Nice job! That looks so much better than the cheap plastic/fabric covered car ports
