We've had a Toto with the bidet seat in our ensuite bath for a dozen years now. Wife loves it, but I can honestly say that in a dozen years I've never even tried it out. Just have zero desire for anything spraying at me down there, thanks.

Downstairs we just have a regular Toto toilet, but this spring my wife talked me into getting a bidet seat for it. Bought a Toto seat, so figured it would fit perfectly on the Toto toilet, just like upstairs, but nope. It fits, but it's awkward and ugly and the seat opening is tiny. Seems like the newer seats are designed to fit any brand of toilet, so they've made some compromises. So now I'm stuck with an awkward toilet with a fancy seat I'll never use.

Really don't want to spend the money, but might have to pay to replace the whole thing with a new integrated one.  :P

Oh, and baby wipes FTW.  ;)

Are you supposed to flush baby wipes?

and yes toilet talk getting all the traffic exemplifies just how lame the new car market has become.

Are you supposed to flush baby wipes?.

Nope. And don't put them in port-a-potties either.

Definitely nope. Mini garbage can next to the toilet.

One of the best shitters I've used. Not recommended for anybody that needs everything to be spotless. Bring your own TP and Baby Wipes ;D

Can honestly say I've never noticed any smell at all. To be clear, procedure is to start with regular TP (which gets flushed), then finish up with the wipes.  :)

You've become "nose blind".  That nose blind commercial is genius.

Can't stand Febreze or any other kind of perfumey stuff in the house. If I walk into a place that stinks of air freshener, my first thought is Ooh gross, I wonder what they're trying to cover up.  :P

Dunno why the garbage can doesn't smell, but it doesn't. Maybe if you stuck your face right into it?  ??? :rofl2:

I agree about the air fresheners.  I just thought I'd mention the concept of "noseblind" whether it exists or not.

We don't flush TP down our toilets.  Our waste pipe runs about 400 feet from where it exits the side of the house to the main in the street.  Takes 2 90 degree turns on the way.  We flush twice.  Was very nervous that it would actually work.  But it does and it's a bit amazing that our slope worked.  Not risking a plug up with TP.  Now it seems odd to flush TP down a toilet.

Of course I won't be mentioning this fact to the next owners.

We have a weird setup here too. Wastewater runs to a sump buried in the driveway, then gets pumped to the sewer line under the street.

About a year after install, we had an issue with the sump pump running constantly, so I pulled the lid to figure out what was going on. Opened it up and found a gross mess of cement-like papier mache gumming up the whole thing. Float was jammed up so the pump wouldn't shut off.

The "papier mache" was a gummed up mess of Charmin TP. That stuff is nice to use, but too thick to break down properly. Convinced the wife to switch to Kirkland brand TP and haven't had a problem since.

So if you're not flushing TP how are you getting rid of it?  ???

We now have Septic for the first time ever. Back in Mississauga I'd toss everything down the drain, and to the city's credit, never had any issues. Now though, we're trying to be more conscious of what goes in there. Tissue paper for example, apparently isn't suppose to go in....That's taking some getting used to as I am used to always flushing tissues. Also learned that some TP brands have a 'Septic Safe' logo and others don't, so trying to remember to buy the safe stuff.

I was just going to say none of what they're doing sounds easier or more convenient than a bidet...

That's interesting because the guy who recently pumped our septic tanks specifically warned against using Kirkland brand as he found it didn't break down well in a septic system.
