Yeah, old wood one. Didn't really pay much attention to the bolts and pivots, guess I should have

Worked on a pretty new Samsung dishwasher last week that had an annoying habit of the top spray bar falling off with almost every wash

The spray bar was spinning on a plastic tube, held in by a round plastic clip and a little plastic ledge, which seems to be wearing out

Replaced the clip with an o-ring, and so far that seems to be working, and as another plus looks like it will stop further wear on that plastic ledge

To bad you were late to the memo, but Samsung make the worst DWs in the business.  I bought two Whirlpool branded DWs just before Covid; the 3 tray type, stainless in side, electric heating coil on the bottom (a must) for $550 each and they are just great.

Yeah, this is a family members machine, and isn't really selling me on Samsung. We have a recent Whirlpool ourselves, was cheap, works great, and no problems at all so far

Word of caution to DW buyers.  Beware of "eco branded" DWs.  Which means they come with this preposterous fan in the base of the machine that purports to dry the dishes while using nil electricity.  If you like wet dishes and failures then they are for you.

Traditional, exposed bottom heating coil, never disappoints and are less expensive by a big margin.

Our now almost 2 year old DW is a Maytag, which is actually a rebranded Whirlpool.  So far, so good.  No issues with it so far.  Stainless interior, heating coil, etc.  We didn't splurge for the $1200 'ultra quiet' model, but I find that our model is still a lot quieter than our previous 15 year old DW.

Whirlpool dishwasher in my apartment.  No issues in the almost three years I've lived here.  Does a good job cleaning the dishes and it's quiet.

Ugh, I hate appliances....Been assessing the units in the new place.

Whirlpool DW in, seems like a really nice quality unit, quiet, all SS and does a much better job cleaning dishes than the last one we had (which I think was also a Whirlpool, but likely a lower end model).

Frigidaire Fridge, nice unit with lots of fancy features, slides, etc...Huge too. Except one of the hinges was broken/defective so the height adjust wasn't working and one door was all the way down, which meant the little insulated divider between the two upper doors wasn't riding in it's channel, and therefore not closing.....So the previous owners were operating with like a 1" gap, wide open between the doors. I had to re-tap the adjuster on the lower hinge and thread in a bolt to adjust the door height back up and get the divider thing moving properly.

Frigidaire Gas Range, big 48" unit. Likely original to the house (2006), looks nice, but the LCD display is super dim, it's missing key features Mrs.Firm likes (air fry) and because it's a dual oven setup, both ovens are on the small side. Think we're going to bite the bullet and replace it soon because I am already getting sick of hearing her complain about it. Decent 48" gas range is about $5K (USD) though, ouch.

LG (Boooo, like Samsung LG appliances are also trash in my experience) washer & dryer. The dryer seems fine, dries quicker than our old one, but the washer is super noisy. It's a top load (which we prefer) but it sounds like it's got a bad bearing, I'll probably replace the bearing myself when I get a little time.

Probably shouldn’t jinx anything by saying it, but…

All our appliances are 12 years old now and still working just fine. Okay, our first LG fridge crapped out after a year or two, but it was replaced under warranty and the new one has been trouble free ever since. LG washer and dryer still going strong as well. I did replace something on the washer a couple years ago (drain pump?) but it was a cheap and easy fix.

No problems with the KitchenAid gas cooktop and electric wall oven / microwave at all.

Dishwasher is Miele, and I love that thing. It’s just a quality unit and a pleasure to operate. Bought that one a few years ago and I don’t doubt it will last 10-15 years. “Preposterous” fan works perfectly fine, and as a bonus there are no concerns with stuff melting on the bottom rack, so you can put plastic bowls/containers wherever you want.

We have been somewhat lucky. Family of 5 and have been using the same washer/dryer (Kenmore HE3) for 20 years. Like 10 full loads each week for 20 years. I have had to replace the heating element in the dryer for $40 and unplug an airline on the washer once  (free). Simple maintenance and TLC and things can last.

Dishwashers? once/twice per day over the 20 years. On rig #2. Bosch high end unit for the past 12 years. No issue.

Induction cooktop:.  My old LG did pack it in and I replaced with a Frigidaire one. Not as good but we have a kitchen reno looming and the thing is stopgap.

My Klipsch sound bar in bedroom inexplicably stopped working. No sound to TV, no sound via Bluetooth connection. Nothing. Did a factory reset and still nothing.

So bought a new one today.

Yamaha YAS-209 .Should be a perfect replacement.

It's currently bare cement.

Got a Quest 3 VR headset coming, just in time for winter by the looks of it. Curious how much the tech has improved over the Quest 2

IQ loves her Quest 2.

Do you have a Quest 2 to compare?

Had one for three years now. Works perfectly fine still, but use it enough an upgrade would be a nice treat

Well let us know if you go that way.

She loves hers. She even bought a carbon fiber golf handle for real swing golf.

She also has a huge VR mat and a very slick charging base.
