This year marks the 25th anniversary of my lawnmower!
Last of the rear engined John Deeres. This has the K-Series 12.5hp Kawasaki engine, 38" deck.
Apart from the usual seat wear, I think it's still in fantastic condition. That unit is in fantastic shape, but it's only 25 years old afterall.
Mine is the typical front engine unit with the same motor. Bought in 1987 new. Used on a farm for 16 years so a million miles equivalent. Two years ago was the first running problem and it was solved by a jet cleaning (you-tube). Incredible motors. Only seen Crappy Tire branded sae 30 weight oil.
My seat is mint, but the body is rough. It's hit so many fence posts, trees and has been rolled a few times. If I was wreckin it, I'd send you the seat which oddly is mint. However, plans are to remove the deck and let the grandson drive it around.
On a side note; current JD lawn tractors are JUNK.. Home Depot price point sporting thin metal and Chinese engines.
