One of my canoe trip buddies sent me a link to somebody selling a bunch of canoe barrels.  This guy was using them to store ingredients for wine/beer making, but hey, a waterproof barrel is a waterproof barrel.  I went and picked it up after work.  I've been wanting to get one since our canoe trip.  A good barrel is considered a must-have for any canoe-packer.

I've got a few of those i use as rain barrels.  Nice find!

Well, just ordered a new pair of glasses through Zenni.  We'll see how that goes.  I've never ordered glasses online before.  I went with a nicer set of frames, and got the high index lenses, all the coatings, including the blue-light filter (my current pair of glasses has this and I like it), and the oleophobic coating to try to keep them cleaner and fog-free.

Anyway, if I'm satisfied, I've always wanted a pair of Ray Bans Aviators.  I'll just order the knock-off versions from Zenni if I'm happy with what comes in the mail for my daily drivers.

I've got a few for prescription sunglasses I like a lot, especially for driving. Didn't have much luck with progressive regulars, but those can be tricky

For fitting I just looked at how my old ones were and 'adjusted' them to fit similarly

I'll be going with the Zeiss specialized driving glasses.

I'm sure my eyes will thank me but my bank account won't.

I always leave the door of my front loader open a crack after use.

Yea, I'm new to front loaders...so I took the advice of the forum to leave the door open.

And barring that, I wipe the door and front drain thing off between washes with a microfiber.

So far, so good...no smell.

We leave our door open. Have never wiped anything.  Never had any odours.

I've done all the above. But who knew a washing machine is gonna have a filter  :P

My old one had a filter....right where the drain pump was.  And it was a total PITA to fix...had to take the damn thing apart but a piece of IQs bra got stuck in it.

same here...i mean, it doesn't hurt to wipe it down if you want, but leaving the door open a couple of inches will allow the inside to dry...maybe if you do laundry every day (so it can't dry), you might need to stay on top of it a bit more(?).

Still running our old Kenmore washer/dryer.  They're about 20 yrs old now and still work great.  Washer is top-load and when it breaks I'll likely replace it with another top-loader.  We always leave the lid open on the washer as well.

I'm a fan of old non-HE washer/dryers, too.

Mine were bought in 2001, so 20yrs old now & are still going strong, Kenmore heavy duty. The dryer needed the high temperature switch replaced which cost me $65 in parts & then last time the heating coil was shorted & I fixed it myself.

I once had to replace the lid switch on the washer.  To do that you have to remove the entire cabinet and then lift it up and over to get it off, which was really fun in my 5' x 7' laundry room.  There's also a line of cabinets above the washer and dryer.  Replacing the switch itself took about two minutes but took a couple of hours and lots of swearing to get the lid off, then back on again.   :P

Order a HDMI to S-video + Audio analog converter to link my Apple TV with my 1994 RCA 36" CRT TV  ;D
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07PKQ64TC

I did not found HDMI converter to S-Video (only composite: yellow RCA) + SPDIF Toslink  to be link to my Yamaha DP-50U sound processor...

I will test first the above and if it works as expected, maybe later will add upstream a HDMI audio extractor SPDIF Toslink / HDMI out

GE dishwasher started leaking some time ago. It's the second third GE giving me trouble. The fridge is already in the dump. Everything is Mexican made and the parts are junk. Never again.
Anyways, looked up the part and it is "WD15X10014"
The price spread is ridiculous but having amazon prime is nice. Hopefully it will get here in a few days.

P.S. Forgot a GE microwave was acting out too but it was a simple loose connection in that case.
