Bought a Klipsch R10-B soundbar...

Cool!  Let me know your impressions as I'm thinking of getting one for the tv upstairs.  Where did you buy it from?

Agreed, I'm interested to hear more about your thoughts on this one too.

There are many reviews online that would probably serve you guys better than one from me.  At this point in my life, I'm losing some hearing from 20 years of industrial noise.  :'(  They particularly like the sub woofer, which is built like a tank (weighs about 25 lbs).  Overall, it sounds really, really good.  I didn't read a negative review about it prior to purchase, and that was about 10 reviews.  And as the reviews say, the sub woofer is thunderous.  The sound stage is plenty wide for where we use it...our bedroom (20ftX12ft)  So far we are really enjoying it, and it sounds better than other units we've "tested" before.  Buy one..you'll be impressed for what it is.  I think the only sound bar we tested that we liked more was the top of the line Yamaha.  But it was big money in comparison.

I got it from Tepperman's.  They had an electronics sale and I popped in and saw it for $549.  It was the last one.  Regular price was $899.

Nice.  I know how particular you are about your purchases and appreciate your input.  Plus I'm an old geezer losing my hearing too, so there's that.

I've had the 5.1 surround systems that were mediocre (never spent much money on it) and have for the past few years just gone with a pair of Paradigm Titans and a semi-decent Sony receiver for my tv / movie watching.  I expect to be buying a new TV in the coming months and might look for a sound bar set up to accompany it.

Unless you have a decently sized room with relatively good acoustic properties then even the best quality surround system will be a let down. I haven't had much exposure to surround bars, but would assume that they would be all one would need for decent sound quality in a small to modest sized space and probably more appropriate than a 2 channel system.  I've never been satisfied with 2 channel only systems for home theatre use as there is too much separation of dialog.  Most of the the dialog comes from the centre channel for proper effect.

I got a Sony soundbar with a subwoofer, the HT CT100.  Found one on Kijiji for $100, snapped it up.  I love it!

I wasn't looking for anything special, just something better than the TV speakers.

Agreed, that's why I was after one for ages, then they stopped making them.  Then the newer 'better' one wasn't getting great reviews, so I went looking for a used one.

Really?  I haven't heard much bad about the CT260.

Posted in the happy thread about selling our travel trailer and closing a deal on a new one.  The new to us unit is a 2014 Sunset Trail Reserve 31ss.

We plan on getting seasonal site at the lake this year.  That way we can haul the trailer up for the year and leave it, like a poor mans cabin.

I towed the unit to my folks for storage.  It towed better than our previous 23' trailer, even being 2300lbs heavier.  Over 120 km I got 21.8l/100km.  I usually averaged 26 with the smaller trailer.  Must be due to the more aerodynamic cap on the front end.

Not me but My Sister - She and her Husband had a solarium of sorts added to their house this Summer. She's been wanting to have this addition done for 20 years now. I think it looks really great, especially given that the builder managed to tie the design into the existing house design.
