I love the small print on the photos...

"European model shown.  U.S. translation in progress."

WTF does that mean????  Stripping appeal away and making it so ugly the Dr. will slap it's parents??????

Great!!! Note that the ESP is said to be standard, but this may only be in the US (I may relocate to the US with my job by then so it’s all good).
Regardless, it has the powertrain I was hoping for so this might be my next car. I’ll still wait for the new Focus and Golf to see which one is going to be.

Yep....and you need at least a dozen or so cup holders big enough to hold the biggest Slurpy 7/11 sells ;D

I believe that Canada is considering joining in with the US standard for ESP for the 2011 model year.

I wonder where they will fit the cup holders

I am sure it will be decontented to keep it cheap as everybody knows that small cars have to be cheap.

It's got the front cup holders and door bottle holders already. Not sure about the rear but it would be nice to have at least door bottle holders.
However, what this car needs to be complete (based on the pictures alone) is a center arm rest and the back of the rear backrests should be carpeted instead of black painted metal (I cannot recall seeing something like this in other hatchback).
None of these would be deal breaker for me by any means.

Another sweet thing about Fiesta (Euro at least) is that it's light - around 2200 lbs. so it would have a class-leading power to weight ratio (it's about 300 lbs. lighter than the Fit IIRC).

It seems like there is a full array of features available - BT, Sync, power start, up to 7 airbags, upgraded sound, three cloth and three leather options, etc. Perhaps Ford will sell them a la cart - good idea IMO.
I only care about power everything, trip computer, alarm, full array of airbags, ESP, leather steering wheel, leather shifter knob, fog lights, 16” alloy, remote audio and cruise and perhaps BT. I'd love to have auto headlights too. These are all achievable in a mid or high trim I would think (Zetec trim in Euro with few options).

Truely dislike the look of the Fiesta sedan, so glad the hatch is coming.

If I were Ford, I'd do the sedan (as ill proportioned as it is, people will buy it), the 3dr hatch, and the B-Max (over the 5dr hatch, as nice as it is). But B-Max would be pricier than the regular 5dr, so maybe that's not a good idea? Would have to compare the two in person. At least it'd be roomy and comparable to Fit or a mini B-Class on a budget.
