The Porcshe 911 C4 PDK's mega cool feature...
« on: November 08, 2008, 01:14:25 pm »
Hi...

I read this on Autoblog,

" The guys at Garage 419 found out from Porsche engineers that front-wheel drive can be disabled entirely by lifting up the parking brake a single notch. Once you lift up that brake, the four-wheel-drive Carerra 4 becomes a Carrera 2 and power slides and donuts are yours to discover. "

Just to be able to put down the e-brake and shout to the world that you have the 4WD one, heehehheh. :P

Ah yes Wolverine...we can't forget about the "show-off" factor.

I wouldn't draw attention to the fact that I have an automatic Porsche...but hey, that's just me...and the argument on these transmissions in this forum is (to take a TopGun line) - long but distinguished.

Subaru is kicking themselves so hard for not making this part of the STI's "e-diff."

Being a Porsche, it could be MT, AT, CVT, TipTronic, 4WD, AWD, FWD, RWD or whatever. What I posted wasn't my opinion, I'm not the "show-off" type. But you can't deny it's true...

I didn't take it as your opinion...so no worries.

I would resemble that "show-off" comment Wolverine...so I certainly wouldn't deny it's true!

Maybe one day...sigh.

I had my RX-8 ONE DAY before a client saw me drive in with it and say "Oh well...excuse me...we are paying too much if you're driving a fancy shmantcy car like that!"  I don't wish to imagine what it would be like if I had a 911 of any vintage.

One guy I heard from who converted his Subie to RWD said the suspension required major retooling to actually work on the track as a RWD car.  :/

Neat idea, though: it'd be cool to be able to go all the way from 0/100 to 50/50.
