Maybe I'll get this one... doesn't look "cheap"

I bought this unit last Christmas when it was on sale. It is indeed good quality but assembly was a bit of a pain. One of my requirements were doors because I have a one year old at home.

One problem I have with this unit is the glass window on the doors are on the small side. What this means is depending on where the IR receiver is located on your DVD/CableBox/Receiver, signals from your remote will be blocked by the frame of the door.

I am afraid of that, I'll have to look at mine!  Thanks!  Any pics?

Also, how wide are the cabinets?  And is the middle one a screen for a speaker?

Oh or you could get something like this and not really worry about it. http://www.uniqueproductsonline.com/coirresy.html

I have a wireless one like this with a receiver and sender I could use if I had to.

I'll take some pics and measurements tonight. Yes, middle door is a screen so you can hide speakers in there.

Awesome!  Thanks!  I'd like to get a centre channel and put it in there, currently I don't have one, I suspect that it needs to be fairly narrow though...

Wouldn't your first concern be getting center channel that matches your main speakers? Dont' you have Studio 20's or 40's?  Good luck finding a 'narrow' one in that series.  ;)

* Side note....I almost bought a pair of Studio 100's last weekend.

EDIT: OMG!  This guy is selling a matching centre channel!  I hope he still has it!
Double EDIT: Damn damn damn, sold and he lives close to me too :(

Because these are only available online -- the store has nothing really, usually only 1 thing

I have pics of the stand with the doors closed and open. I measured the width of the door opening to be 16 3/4" for both the left and right side. And the middle is 17" wide. The dividing shelves in all three compartments are adjustable with 3 levels. As shown it's set to the lowest level on the right side. And set to the middle level in both the middle and left side. I hope that helps ...

Thanks for the numbers but sadly its not wide enough for me. I need to find something 18 inches wide for my receiver and 23 inches wide for my center channel speaker. This is too bad as I really liked the looks of this cabinet and the price was right.  :'(

BTW, what is that in the bottom left corner....is that some new kind of technology?  :rofl2:

Thanks DoubleClutch, I'll have to measure all my devices tonight that is very helpfull.  Seems kind of narrow though, standard audio equipement is 19" wide, I'm not sure why they don't make all the cabinets 19 and 1/4 and just be done with it and let everyone fit their gear in properly!

I think everything I have will fit, might have to put them in before attaching the doors.  My CD player is a 200 CD changer though so it is VERY long (deep) so it may be my limiting factor.  Is the back just a cardboard thing?  I could cut it for the CD player if need be.

Found the dimensions for my CD player: Dimensions 17''W x 7 7/8''H x 19''D

Tight fit it seems.... but I guess I can squeeze it in there :P

EDIT: DoubleClutch, re-reading your post it sounds like the door opening is 16 3/4" on the right and left but the actual shelf is wider?  I could add the components sans door and it should fit?  What about depth?

I'm in the same situation, but I need something that allows me to swivel the TV and gives enough space to put my notebook, HT, cable receiver, etc. Since I didn't find something that could give me all of this, I'm designing one in Solid Works and will get someone who can construct it.

Next month eh? hmmmm They have a very similar one on sale right now but its black.

Also this one is nice and real wood, but slightly wider at 62" but that may be too wide for my space.

I'll need to confirm tonight when I get home but I think the backing is NOT cardboard. I remember being impressed by the quality of the stand because I'm used to IKEA quality (which usually has a lot of cardboard). The Stand is deeper than you think. That's a 32" CRT TV sitting on top of it. And not much of the TV is sticking out the back. Again I'll do more measurements tonight but I'm sure it'll fit your 19" deep CD player.

Yes, my measurements are of the openings so that means the shelves are wider. The door hinges cut into opening, I'd say it takes up at least 1/4". You can definitely leave the doors off. But taking off and putting the doors on would be a real PITA.
