I have a mate over from the UK for a couple of days and want to see some scenery, are there any outstanding landscapes we could drive to within 3 hrs of Waterloo?

The Elora Gorge maybe? Great for the photographers and you can purchase a fair pint or two in Elora proper.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Have a look here.  I've been living in this province for over 12 years, and am just beginning to discover its many varied wonderful landscapes.     Was in Long Point (north shore of Erie) on the weekend.

Is that 3 hours one way or return?

Algonquin
Tobermory
Collingwood/Pretty River
Kolopore

All are great places for a hike and the colours should be very good right now.

How about the "Forks Of The Credit"

http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/fork.html

Stunning scenary in this area. Also, the area in and around Orangeville can be beautiful. Mono Hills and the surrounding area are very pretty.

St. Jacob's is a fun way to spend a Sunday morning as well.

Interesting. It has neither F&M nor Wellington included... Guelph's small brewers.  But is does have The Brick in KW.

Guelph also has Sleemans but they sold out to a Japanese Co.  so they certainly don't count

Websters Falls and Tews falls in Dundas are beautiful.  If you continue the hike from Websters past tews you'll eventually reach a rock outcropping that gives you a view of the valley.

I would suggest taking the Lake Road for either Lake North or South of you and just follow the road and see what you find. There's tons of places of interest in this part of our province here with many attractions which are open 12 months a year as well.  Even Stratford which is near where you live can be very interesting for tourists.  :)

That's the Fanny's from North Bay, it was located beside a bible shop.  Er... so I've been told.
