There are good people out there.
« on: October 18, 2008, 04:30:20 pm »
Found a note under my windshield wiper at my golf and country club with a phone number and an explanation to the dent in my front passenger door. “Call me for visa number to repair door at your body shop of choice” this was on a scorecard with a foursome with no score higher than 80……..fackers.

Finally, someone bumps someone and leaves a proper note!  Good on them...

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

It is a vertical dent about 12 inches long that was caused by contact from the guy’s truck door. Not much these days cost under $500 form a body shop. I called they guy and he was very apologetic and gave me his Visa number and indicated he will call the number in to the shop when I get the estimate.

Edit:

Perhaps he figured I would ask to see the security camera tape  ???

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

There is a crease in the area that has the scratch and is noticeable at the proper angle and in daylight. The chips are down to bare metal. I t must have been a solid hit from the door to do that kind of damage. I will try and take a better pic in daylight tomorrow.

Talk with a paintless dent removal guy... they are miracle workers.  There was a similar crease-like dent in my wifes' door that someone left a note for as well (wow!), and autodentist here in Ottawa made it disappear 100%.

They usually do airbrishing for paint chip repair and it looks great, no bondo/filler, and you'd be surprised how inexpensive it is compared to a body shop (not that you care, it's not your $, but regardless of price it's a great place to try!).

I got an estimate for $840. The dent is on the horizontal fold along the door and can’t be pinged out. Another pic with cheap camera:

:o  Crazy how much bodywork costs, isn't it?  No wonder I see so many cars running around with mismatched bumpers and accident damage.
