Chevy to temporarily halt Vette production

Chevy to temporarily halt Vette production!

These truly are the end times!
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Thousands of balding, potbellied men to suffer second mid life crisis.

I love the Z06, really do...

How much is a used one from the US (I imagine the initial prices are cheaper)? And can it be brought in without additional tax?

Sales of the Vette only down 8.5% for the year, not that bad yet.

Today's Corvette has NOTHING in common with the ridiculous 1982 model.  Gold chains?  Not now.  Todays Vette driver might be an F1 pilot!  Even the "base" Corvette is a true high performance car, and the Z-06 AND ZR-1 are in the realm of "supercars."

I don't think it matters which model you buy in the US it still be a heck of a machine for sure. Either engine is a treat to own for power.  :)

You will have to pay GST at the border and 7% Ont tax when you register it.    I wonder what the insurance is on a Vette for a new immigrant  :o :rofl2:

Closing production lost jobs. The government needs to step in and do something about this. Maybe give tax rebates to middle class people with kids so they can afford to buy a 50 K 2 seat sports car that uses a lot more gas than a Fit or Yaris!

Seriously though its too bad as the Vette is the other GM product besides the CTS that I find somewhat appealing. Its got true performance at a lower price than most of its competion. But it simply makes sense that demand is way down. The market for 2 seaters is limited enoigh. Add a above avewrage price bracket, high consumption suspect reilability into the equation you have troubles in todays world. Worst of all you have to buy and service your 50,60 70K plus car at the same Chev dealer that selss and services Aveos. Major problem. Its such an odd duck in the Chev lineup. Eveytime a mainstream manufacturer has tried to sell a very expensive car under its own (and not luxury banner) think Vw with the Phaeton its been a disaster. Surprised the Corevett mistique has survied it this long.

C6 base as part of employee pricing was down to 40k USD.
2006 can be had of mid 30s
Used Z06 are @ $50k and up for the new model.

You're forgetting about a little thing called Winter... You'd need another car for that too   :skid:

$40K for a C6 is a crazy amount of car for the money...
