2009 Honda Civic. Mild Facelift.
« on: August 25, 2008, 09:27:18 am »
2009 Honda Civic. It has got a mild face Lift. (more like a tiggle) Will the Civic base be a Corolla killer now that it comes standard with AC. Only price will tell. I still think it is best small car on the market.  :)

I was expecting Honda to do a little bit more than they did...but the changes in the content are nice.  Its already a pretty edgy design so I suppose there wasn't much needed to take it much further.  Interesting to see where the next gen goes styling wise.

Since the dash and the front of the car are the same, it doesn't do anything for me design wise ....

I prefer the MK8 Civics without the plastic fake crome above the number plate. I feel I just have to say that. I think It was GM that started that fad. :)

Canada always gets the shaft with the smaller lesser expensive cars. I'd be surprised if Navigation radios are available in the Civics like they are in the US.  I found that the US auto manufacturer sites have nav radios available on almost all the smaller economy cars as an option (ie: civic and corolla). Here in Canada you can't get nav options unless you buy a $35K base car it seems.

The 09 Civic doesn't have standard AC. It's extra $1300.

I would go to say that almost all cars here in Canada you have to pay extra for AC, that is normal.  :)

Really?....I'd question that.
The last car I bought that didn't come standard with AC was in the 80's
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

As soon as you get out of the Fit/Yaris subcompact and Civic/Corolla compact classed, yes pretty much all cars have AC standard.

Not a huge change...I've spotted a couple on the roads already but its not that much of a change.

The Acura CSX facelift hasn't been mentioned much but its change is much more noticeable as it now sports the Acura chrome shield design that the rest of their cars have.

I wonder what Honda has planned for a year or two from now when the Civic gets a redesign.

Hopefully they will put the fun back in to it.... :(

What have they changed, it looks the same to me..?

I wish they brought the roundy civic hatch here.

As soon as you get out of the Fit/Yaris subcompact and Civic/Corolla compact classed, yes pretty much all cars have AC standard.

Hence I said tiggle. The back has a strip of plastic chrome, headlights, brake lights and the front valance. Also options Such as the DX-A to compete on price with the corolla and few new colours.

Its great dash. I never want to go back. Every single car on the market looks stuffy old fashion IMO. Just take a few weeks to adjust for some. I don't why know one else hadn't done before. At night I feel like I piloting a spaceship. That's worth the price of admission alone. :)
