I live in Whitby and strongly do not recommend the Whitby Dealership. Originally this dealership was a corporate store called the BMW Experience Center. It was than sold and became Whitby Durham. It is now being moved to Ajax this November. They are strictly 8:00am to 5:00pm service. They are not open Saturdays, and they are not open late any night of the week. This has been a major issue for those living in Whitby who commuate. Of course this dealership is open on Saturdays to sell cars, but don't expect service on a Saturday or after hours. This dealership draws service customers from a very large Geographic area as many customers traveling from miles away for service due to a lack of dealers in rural areas. They are always short of mechanics and appointments are hard to schedule and work never seems to get done in the alloted appointment or they never have the right parts in stock. I am always being told that really common parts are not in stock. Have had some very poor diagnostics on my car here, and some very questionable service. For instance it took $2000 of service and parts and 9 months before they realized my vibration was comming from a bent rim. In the past 6 months have spent $8500 of parts and service on my car at this dealership. Some of that was under warranty so thats why I kept going there. Now that my warranty is up, I wouldn't let them touch my car. My advice to anyone wanting to buy a BMW or wanting to service a BMW is this: Buy the longest extended warranty you can, sell it as soon as the warranty is up or find a local garage. Another criticsm I have of BMW Durham is that they have far to many service advisors and far too few good mechanics. The last time I had my car in for service I counted at least 1 service advisor walking around aimlessly for every 1 service bay. Before becomming a BMW customer I had always owned Honda or Acura products. Have been completely underwhelmed with my 325xi and would never buy another one of their products. Have been underwhelmed with performance, service, warranty, parts, reliability, functionality, and dealership.
