I know I noticed that review. I need to install the new springs (STI pinks, they were on sale) that I got but I've kind of been lazy. Not to mention its hards to find the two hour chunk of time that I'm going to need to install them. From what I hear stabilizer bars do a better with the suspension also so I need to upgrade those also.

I find it strange that they offer both the WRX and the WRX265 in Canada. In the US they are calling the 224 hp impreza the gt-s and it will be only available in automatic. Plus they are expected to be the same price

I guess I should be glad that I got mine from the US and saved some money. If I had paid full Canadian prices and found out that for 3K more I could have had 40 more HP and a better suspension I would have been pretty pissed.

If I went to a stage 2 set up I would get about 265 - 280+ HP. I think that's what snowman has.
Maybe I should wait a bit and try to pick up a used 09 turbo from somebody upgrading.

Does anyone know what type of turbo is going to be in the 09 WRX265?

A quality Stage 2 kit and a skilled tuner can easily get you 300 HP.

I thought it was about the current options, equipment engine etc of the 2009 Imprezas. Not what aftermarket equipment could be added to increase HP

They're the only ones discussing anything within the thread other than yourself - and you're acting like a crybaby. It's an online forum, I mean, honestly. I know you feel you have a point, but just move on - please.

Now, Snowman, I hope to join the Subaru Mod talk in a few months. I hope to be purchasing a WRX265 5-door. I'll probably leave it stock for the first 8 months or so, but I know I'll get mod fever...especially with the power gains you get get fairly easily from these cars. I'll be seeking advice then.

I will be anxiously waiting to hear a full report. The 265 will be set-up properly with upgraded suspension and tires so the only question in my mind will be how much above 300 HP a down pipe, exhaust, and ECU programming will take me. I'm sure COBB will have someting in early 2009 for $2k to make it happen.

Boy oh boy, that 265 is getting all the reviews we've come to expect for the WRX.  Funny how some minor changes (like power and proper suspension) can move that car from "not even on the list" to "a VERY strong contender" for the replacement of the MX5 next year.

Well with leasing possibly being not a consideration I may have to rethink where I purchase the WRX  .  I suspect that in a year we will be back to $0.80 USD anyways.

The diffs would be nice but not worth the extra $$$ considering the times I would be pushing the limit during hard cornering. At the end of the day I will most likely revert back to common sense and logic and go with a WRX265.

I find it hard to believe I could possibly own a third WRX in a row considering my track record for jumping around. But dollar for dollar I still think they are the best value for an all-season practical performance car. $34k plus $3k in mods will make it even more fun
