If White was the new Black (sort of 2005-2008), what is the new White?

Mocha on tan! ;D
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

At the auto shows and in the high end tuner crowd, I'd have to say Matte Black.

Really?, I'm not sure abut satin/matt black, it has a pretty poor image over here.  Look what someone has done to these!

 :rofl2:

Saying that, I bet some people love these...

Although I do like this...

I'm not sure about the exterior colour...but I really got the sense many were moving away from black interiors...which, IMHO...is way overdue.

Is that Ferrari parked next to an early-80s Buick? What is that doing over there?

Back to topic, color selections seem pretty much the same everywhere these days. Most makes that have more than 4 or 5 choices offer black, white, silver, sand/gold metallic, dark blue, some variation of red, and grey. Sometimes you can add dark gray. That's usually it. The color selection on the Chevy Malibu is particularly dismal -- they offer some different choices but all of them are dull and lack eye appeal. We're missing the brighter greens and blues, and variations of yellow in most cases these days, and when yellow is offered, it is almost always a screaming, blinding, hot dog mustard shade. I always preferred the softer yellows.

Part of the problem with exterior colors is when all you offer for an interior shade is grey and beige, a lot of exterior colors don't go well with either. I wish we could get back to more color-keyed interiors.

Not all cars look good with matte black. I thought these look good.

However matte colours shows scratch easily. Hence prd car for the time being will be glossy. Unless, those self-healing paint from Infiniti works! Anyone tested it out yet?

I would say grey. Just look around you folks. Most new cars are shades of grey. :)

I'm surprised at how nice the matte black Ferraris look.  Matte black doesn't seem to work for the Porsche though...

That dark "charcoal" gray seems very popular these days, I agree.  And it's a very nice colour.  :)  I'm a big fan of white cars, though...  looks great.

I was reading in the paper that the results are in that Blue may be the new White.  So I guess Blue is in...noticed quite a few more cars recently that come in some nice shades of Blue.

What I don't personally ever see me in is that really bright blue that the Corolla comes in...its akin to the old Subaru WRX STI blue (with gold rims) which looks awesome on that car but doesn't on anything else.  But I love the Neutron Blue that Honda has and some of the deeper blues that Mazda offers.  Ford has a few good ones as well.  Cars need more shades...Mazda has the right idea...some really muted shaded colours that look awesome!

Looks like that to me too.   I used to use flat black to cover up rust.  :)

On a race car the color looks good as the pics show, not so on street cars.

I have a friend with a matt black exige, he says it's very difficult to keep clean/scratch free, as the finish is very soft.

This sort of blue was in a few years ago, might be making a comeback...
