Fixed. Fit added.   I reread the list..... there were some crummy cars there.

I was thinking this morning..... rare that I do that.

Well look on the brightside, You needed to clear out the cobweb sooner or later.  :P

I'm not brand loyalty as such. But really it is hard in NA not to be. Considering there is only 2 brands on the market that are really good IMO. In Euroland they are spoilt for choice when comes to reliable cars IMO than in NA.  :)

Having only 1 car, I don't have much evidence. However my family's car history went like...

1. Hyundai (a Pony! Yes!)
2. K-Car
3. Ford Taurus
4. Chev Corsica
5. F150
6. Chrysler Minivan
7. Grand Am

then the parentals left the country. Having taken large depreciation hits on a lot of those (the last two especially as they were bought new...the others were bought used so not much to depreciate), and plenty of repairs, and now that they have cash...I doubt they'll be buying domestic ever again.

Personally I think I would be more likely to be dealership loyal than brand loyal, and possibly brand disloyal, but hard to say for sure...

2000 Toyota Corolla VE
2005 Mazda Mazda3 GT
2008 Honda Civic Si

I'm certainly not brand-loyal but it does appear that I am segment loyal.

I'm brand loyal to whatever automaker I'm working for at the time I need a vehicle. I like employee discounts.

Looking at my history, you'd think I was a total Honda fanboy.  Truth is, I'm pretty disappointed by their current  offerings.

1)  Honda Rebel 250 (motorcycle).
2)  Honda Shadow 600 (motorcycle).
3)  2002 Suzuki SV650 (motorcycle).
4)  1999 Honda Civic.
5)  2006 Subaru Legacy.
6)  2004 Volkswagen Jetta.

So far, I've been loyal to Toyota

'89 Tercel
'85 Supra
'98 Rav4
'05 Echo hatch

The next one may not be from Toyota though. I really don't like their new styling.

tell me you were not driving a volare for 22 years!!!

No, I had the Volare for 10 years.  My grandparents purchased it new in June 1980 and Grandma sold it to me in June 1993 with 43,000 km on the odometer.  I sold it in June 2003 with 144,000 km on it.  This car was very reliable: the slant-six, Torqueflite combo were a rock and the rust problems of the '76-'77 models were history.

I saw a 1977 Volare in Niagara Falls last Sunday. It was mint, mint, mint. Those slant  6 mills just went forever. :)

Maybe the slant 6 did but those Volare bodyshells did not!  Remember the tail lights on those... every other one would be showing its hazard flashers as brake lights 'cos the ground had rusted away.

I don't think there's anything, anywhere that can top a late 60's or 1970's North American car when it comes to rusting out. M dad had a 69 Grand Marquis with "hidden" headlights. After about 2 years it didn't matter whether the headlight covers worked or not......the lights just shone right through them!;D
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Dodge/Chrysler/Dodge x3
Chevrolet x1
Ford x6
Triumph x1
Mazda x3
Nissan x1
Reliant x1
Toyota x1
Honda x1
Hyundai x1
Luego x1

my list would seem to make me a big Ford fan but I don't really have all that much loyalty to a certain brand. I buy based on what interests me at the time or what is dirt cheap and fills the need (generally these are the Fords).

Let's see:

198? Chevrolet Cavalier (used)
1980 Ford Fiesta (used)
1988 Toyota Tercel (new)
198? Renault Alliance (used)
1991 Toyota Corolla (new)
1984 Chevrolet Camaro (used)
1998 Pontiac Grand Am (new)
1994 Pontiac Sunbird (used)
2000 Daewoo Lanos (new)
2004 Saturn Ion (new)
2007 Mazda 5 (new)

A little bit from Column A, and a little bit from Column B.  Was hunting for an SE-R Sentra but they ran out of '07's at the lease rate being offered.

There is some loyalty in my history..

1982 Yamaha DT100 (New but 4 years old)
1976 Yamaha RD400 (Used)
1982 Honda XL 500 (Used)
1972 Dodge Charger (Bought off a friend)
1982 Mercury Lynx (Bought off my Dad's wife)
1989 Ford Ranger (New)
1987 Ford Mustang 5.0 (Swapped with my dad for the Ranger)
1993 Hyundai Elentra (New, but got it in '94)  Still hold grudge at Hyundai for this.
1997 Honda Civic Hatch (New)
1992 Honda Civic (Traded down the '97 for this needed an automatic)
2003 Mazda Protege (New) Would have been a Civic but they Corolla-ized it.
2006 Mazda3 (New) partly due to the good experince with the Pro.
2007 Focus (Used, former daily rental)  always liked the Focus + MZR engine +  already hugely depreciated (half the sticker in 7 months & 21K)

If I was in the market today, it would be a Mazda again.
