Alfa Romeo Mi.To -- technical details and big gallery
« on: June 20, 2008, 12:17:11 am »
Fiat Grande Punto platform.

Three engines: 78 hp 1.4L gas, 155 hp turbo 1.4L, and 120 hp diesel 1.6L.

Six-speed manual for all engines.

I like.  Lots.  This is a subcompact I'd love to own, particularly with the turbo 1.4L.

And I've heard from more than once source that the Mi.To might follow the 8C Competizione to North America, given the smashing success of the Mini Cooper over here.  Personally, I think this is way cooler than either the Cooper or the Fiat 500, not to mention a 3-door Yaris.

Hmmm...I fond of Alfas...just not this one as much.  I think it's the nose that ruins it for me...Doesn't look as good as other Alfas fronts.

I DO like the rippled dash treatment.  Very nice...

I wonder what they'd charge over here for that car?  What type of TQ for the diesel??
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Well, I'm biased towards anything Alfa...so I'd be all over this too.

While I'd agree it may not look as good as other Alfra fronts, I think they've done a good job given the basic shape.  After all, this isn't a low-slung two seater.

Please please please give us the option of their lighter coloured interiors!!!

That is a hot looking car...it'd be fantastic to see some of them on the roads here in Canada.  People would definitely go for this type of vehicle...I see allot of Mini's around.  I know there was talk of Alfa's being built here too.

Whats the companies reputation...particularly regarding reliability?

The only reason not to own an Alfa.

 Love it. 155 HP WITH good torque, 2,500 lbs. - bingo! Would feel super strong up to at least highway speeds, might feel a bit weak after that. Bring it on!  ;D

Subaru hired ex-Alfa Romeo designer - Andreas Zapatinas as Subaru's new Advanced Design Team's Chief Designer. ... then he is fired.

I quite like it, it's like the bastard lovechild of an 8C + Fiat 500!  :rofl2:

The turbo version would be a hoot.

Looks pretty good to me. A NA front plate would mess it up however.

i can see the move to share the styling cues from the 8c but in such a short car it doesn't work as well.  having said that i still find it attractive. yet,  i prefer the brera coupe which just has a more aggressive, less bulbous design.

I disagree. For what it is - a small-but-tall subcompact - the styling of this car is extremely well done, very sleek and sexy and obviously an Alfa. Not an easy trick to pull off. I want one.  Too bad about the goofy name, though.
