A Whitby man has been charged with fraud after selling licence plate covers used to evade cameras on the Highway 407 toll system.

The suspect was selling the prohibited license plate covers from a business in Markham. He allegedly explained to customers how to install the covers to prevent the toll cameras from taking a picture of the plate so the owner would not receive a bill for using the highway, a months-long OPP investigation revealed.

Edward Cunningham, 56, faces two counts of counselling to commit fraud and numerous charges under the Highway Traffic Act.

The investigation originated from a traffic stop on Highway 407.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in Newmarket court on Aug. 6.

..tha "Old BILL" caught Edward Cunning_ham...sounds like an episode of Z_cars :rofl:...will the defendent be allowed to wear the same disguise upon enterring court............

I am gonna sell a Trunk Monkey that can cover up the plate when the car drive pass them cameras.
