Lenses are expensive... you want anti-glare? uv protection? transitions? bifocal? invisible bifocal? blah blah blah ... it'll cost an arm and a leg....

I splurged for prescription sunglasses once and enjoyed them for a few years but one day they fell in the road and I drove over them  :banghead:.

Talk about extremes of style, they were huge aviators.  Not quite today's Randy Jackson look.

There is less risk with eyeglasses than laser eye surgery.  There is a small percentage of people where the surgery didn't work or made things worse.  One has weigh the risks and the benefits.

So who has bifocals?   How are they for driving?

Me too (transitions), although I still prefer my "regular" glasses for driving as I do not have to turn my head as much to keep things in focus.

And I still use my aviator style prescription sunglasses for driving, absolutely awesome with the coverage they have.

Denial phase is over.  I just got my first set of bifocals.   They don't seem to be too bad for driving.   The instrument cluster looks clearer.  I guess I don't have an excuse for exceeding the speed limit any longer.   :)

do you drive better with glasses than with contacts? I do not know why, but for me this applies.

I have been driving with a pair of Serengeti's Aviator glass's for a no. of years now and they are fabulous for anything outdoor. I have also used them in blinding snow storms or foggie times as well. They have a amazing ability to see right thru both of these conditions even at night. Don't know how they do it but they really work and they are a different prescription then poloroid altho probably similar. My 1st pair lasted 12 years and then a arm broke last year so I called Serengeti in Toronto and they couldn't replace the arm with the original type but did replace the entire glass's for the cost of the arm only which was $68.00. They are currently owned by the scope people at Bushnell Field glass's. The model I have currently retails for around $179.99 to the $200.00 range depending on where you shop. My warranty has been up for many years but I do feel they treated me extremely well on this repair.   :)

For me contacts much better as I can see peripheral clearly.

For me problem with contacts was having yo carry sunglasses and reading glasses around all the time.

They were MUCH better for peripheral vision I agree.
