From the A pillar back, that car looks fine. But that front end is a dog's breakfast.

:iagree:  That front fascia needs to be toned down a couple of notches.  Nice-looking car otherwise.

4 door coupes are the new "it" thing?
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

Mersedes started this "4 door coupe" nonsense with their CLS and now every other manufacturer has to follow?
What's wrong with calling it New Mondeo Sedan?

If people are buying, manufacturers will build them.  And people certainly are buying.  Where I live, CLSs outnumber E-Classes perhaps 2 to 1.

(1)  There already is one.  Well, one year old.
(2)  The name for this new genre, whether you like it or not, is "four-door coupes."  (Though in my mind, four-door coupes are vehicles like the RX-8 and Ion Red Line).

I was watching Top Gear's older seasons I had missed.

They mentioned the Rover P5 was a luxury 4 door coupe. It was driven by the Queen.

This one belongs to the Queen.

How is that Rover not a sedan?  Four doors, a sedan's three-box silhouette...it looks like a sedan to me.

The very same reason a stationwagon is now called a cross over...

That Rover in the photograph, owned by the Queen, is actually the regular sedan version. There was also a Coupe, that had 4-doors, and a slightly lowered rear roofline. IMHO it was a real looker, and now is worth collecting. Never seen one in Canada, they were quite rare in UK. Made 1970/1971.
So, the Mercedes was really a copy of the Rover 3 1/2 litre Coupe.

Whilst we're on the topic...the Chrysler 300 is a pretty good copy of the Rover as well - this itme the regular sedan version.

Cheers,
JR

Well, CLS is the most stunning looking 4-door coupe so far. Mercedes didn't invent the concept.

This looks certainly different from the Queen's version. Side profile picture. Are you referring to this one?
