Had a customer come in for service on his manual GTS 4.0... I took it for a scientific evaluation with him. What. A. Car.

OK not quite the weekend but this pristine low spec Volvo 740 caught my eye. Such a clean sensible design that still looks good today 38 years later... I wonder if any of the sedan designs today will look this good 38 years down the road. This thing was pristine. No rust and a manual. red block Volvo for the win.  Perhaps I should have left my name and number.

I don't think that design is great. To my eyes anyways.

Reminds a bit of a Delta 88 or Plymouth Acclaim LOL [emoji38]

Yeah perhaps design was the wrong word. A better description would be "a marvel of practical engineering.".  A great example of a everything you need and nothing you don't.  Built like brick poophouses. I can't think of the last time I saw one of it's contemporaries on the road (Audi 5000, Saab 900 or 9000, BMW 528e, Pontiac 6000Euro Sport... ;D  I still see 7 series daily and most have little corrosion. Still going about daily tasks over 35 years later.

Things that are neat: RWD, 32 foot turning radius.  :o  Looks are fleeting but things such as a 5 bearing crank or a zinc dipped body is a thing of beauty..

And a great old ad

and the Volvo snowrace!

Attended the World of Wheels for the first time in about fifteen years. Saw lots of great cars, including this 1964 Imperial.

Optical illusion I think. Would be a trick to get that level of camber on a live axle.

Ok, I saw it today, not the weekend,  a nice looking E30 325iX Touring at NAPA today.

I'd have taken a picture, but the owner was there cursing it for spewing coolant.

Sounds about right.  ;D Those AWD ones must be fairly rare.
