The Cutlass Cierra used a variety of V6s plus the Tech IV (ie Iron Duke) plus the pushrod 2.2L. So no Quad-4 goodness for it.

I'd love a turbo Firefly or Suzuki Swift GTi/GT

According to Wiki they could also be had with 4.3 litre diesel V6. For some reason I thought that motor was only available in larger models.

Sorry, didn't look close enough, thought we were talking about a Cutlass Calais.
The Cierra was basically the Olds verston of the Celebrity/6000/Century A-body

Cool GM for the era was the Pontiac 6000STE with AWD

I have a 1990 AWD Pontiac 6000. They are probably one of the rarest A body cars. The Chevy celebrity Eurosport VR is also very rare.

A Cutlass that did have the quad 4 was the Cutlass Supreme. It’s extremely rare though and only offered for 1990 iirc.

Super, super rare. There was an Oldsmobile 88 (fwd kind) with one here for sale recently.

Looks like the Quad 4 HO was 1990 only but the regular Quad 4 was 90-91.

While we're on the topic, this 1986 Celebrity wagon just showed up on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1986-chevrolet-celebrity/

My Aunt and Uncle had that exact car, factory ordered with the woodgrain and all. They hit a moose with it when it was three months old and replaced it with a celebrity Eurosport sedan because nobody had any wagons. I always wonder why he didn’t go for a Buick, Olds, or Pontiac wagon with the identical platform because he always complained about having to buy a sedan.

I love all the glass and the narrow pillars in these old cars.  Right up until I crashed one I suppose.

Interesting that that particular one was ordered with woodgrain but has almost no other options.

I have not seen a 70s Dodge Colt for quite a while and certainly not one as nice as this one. This one is a third-generation Dodge Colt which was a "captive import" being a re-branded Mitsubishi Lancer sold from 1977 to 1979.

Cool! I’d love to have that car. Remember a pal in high school had a Colt with the twin stick transmission. So gimmicky but cool. Think his was a 82-83 or so.

We were following a New Beetle 'vert through Montpelier last Friday, and that thing was slammed pretty slow. Sure enough, as it went over a series of small bumps, a shower of sparks came from under the car and a burning smell came through the Subie's vents. Lots of zig-zagging after the two young women hit that bump! Dropped suspensions may look cool, but roads offer a wake-up call.

Technically only the first gen of the "New Beetle" was called the New Beetle. The most recent one made for the last decade was... you guessed it... just a Beetle!

As a beetleista, I fully know that - and it was, indeed, the very round New Beetle that we saw.
