The M1 and both E36 M3 are customer cars on loan.  But yes, they do often have meat for sale, for sure!

I remember that Benz, it was very tempting. Super mint and well priced too.

One of the things that irritated me about the R129 is that they raised the price within a day, or two of the original listing, so that put me off for a couple of days.  Otherwise I would have gone up sooner.  Still a reasonable price once I saw it in the flesh.

Yep I noticed that too. Perfect spec for an R129 though.

Yes, and at ~ 21k km it was almost showroom condition.  When my buddy called to tell me about it I said i wasn't really interested in anything yet, and he said "yeah, but you gotta see this one".  My wife was smitten with it too.  Oh well, not so much the one that got away, but more of a missed opportunity.

The M1 being a loaner explains why it's not listed for sale.  Not that it matters much because it would be outta my range.  ;D

The front overhang….wow. Haven’t seen on of those in forever. That ultra drive transmission sent most of these to an early grave. My great Uncle had a few Imperials throughout the years.

Back when there was still 6 ft of car to go once you got past the front axle.   :rofl2:

You'd have better luck hauling panelling on the hood instead of the truck.  :rofl2:

Spotted this gem Sunday afternoon.  Talked to the original owner who said his son owns it now.

I love that we can drool over a new 911 on one page and then a mid-80's Cutlass on another.  This place is the best.

It’s crazy though when you see perfectly preserved regular cars from the 80’s like that, that’s going on for 40 years old now!

People are shocked when I tell them my Lebaron is a 1985. Guess it’ll be 40 pretty quick too.

Yeah, the Camry is one of those time capsules. Gets crazy attention on the road just for being itself, puttering along at the speed limit because it just can't go any faster.

I think it's easy to appreciate survivors like that Cutlass because they're so rare these days. After all there isn't anything inherently all that special about the car. But even the most mediocre 30-40 year old car turns my head if it's in great shape.

Me too.  In a society that sees most anything as disposable, I totally appreciate the effort that goes into keeping cars like that on the road, especially in our climate.  Over in my folks' neighbourhood, it's fairly affluent with most homeowners being 50+....lots of 10-15 year old Acura, Toyota, etc that have been meticulously maintained.  I fully expect to keep seeing the same vehicles parked in the same driveways 5+ years from now.

The good Cutlass had the Quad-4, one of GM's first forays into somewhat modern 4-cyl engines, other than that it was pretty forgettable.   I still liked them...kinda, but there wasn't  much of enthusiast interest in those malaise days.
I'd like a Pontiac Firefly Turbo from that era, they were at least fun to drive
