Oh & here's part of our meal as well [emoji12]

Copious amounts of šlijvovica  and ajvar were no doubt consumed as well.

Ok, let's set it up! I'll touch base with you guys next week & maybe we can get a couple more of the Ottawa crowd out as well.
I'm interested too.

A little bit of šlijva, puno vino! Feeling a bit rough today, was a long drive back to Ottawa, lol!

I didn't really know where to put this, but I rode in my friend's Alfa Romeo 159 sedan yesterday as we went to dinner together. (Actually it belongs to his late brother, still a bit sad, the family's kept his car).

Since I'm no expert, wow the styling has held up well; didn't realise that generation ended production in 2011 but it still looks gorgeous inside and out ! I loved the brushed aluminium dash and round centre gauges. The Alfa Romeo emblem, even on the rear seats, was a nice touch.

It was just a short jaunt to the next town for dinner so he didn't drive fast or far, but judging from the automatic gearbox and petrol engine, probably the V6 version then ? (Chaosphere, you might know better....)

So, I was at a party yesterday, and one of the attendees owns a 2015 Cayenne S.  He was nice enough to take me in a spin for it.  Nice car.  Power was 'adequate', lol.

A sweet, lightly modded late-‘70s Corona wagon.  Similar to this, but with four clear headlights.

A Subaru Baha, while out on a drive in Westmount.  The front grille was missing, although it's not easy to see:

We parked and walked through the Westmount lookout forest.  Before the hike, we came across the Korean Consulate and it had, quite naturally, a Kia Sportage and a Hyundai Santa Fe.  No need for black luxo-boats from Audi, BMW or Mercedes!

The house next to the consulate had a Porsche 911, a Mercedes Gelandewagen and a Bentley.

Finally, after our little nature hike, we came across a house that had two Maseratis parked in the driveway, one facing in and the other facing out.

Yeah, there's a little money floating around Westmount.   :o :rofl2: :rofl2:

Saw the Audi Q8.......I dunno the front and rear just don't mesh really well in my opinion. But w/e.

More interesting was a BMW 340i xDrive touring I saw on the A5. I saw that and thought "I bet you all the folks in Canada would want this......"  :rofl2:

Only the base 320i Touring (184PS) has the choice of manual. All other more powerful variants (from 320iT xDrive) are automatic only.

Dually with the short box. Someone must have built it this way as I doubt it left the factory like that. Very cool though.

Driving back from the races at Tremblant on Sunday and saw a Citroën C2 with a Quebec plate ... First thought: how did the guy get that here and through the SAAQ inspection net?  ???

I googled a bit and found the exact car in a local forum. Emigrated French national wanted to bring his 2003 C2, which at 15 y.o. was somewhat legal.

It's this exact car:

How is 15 years partially legal?  Isn’t that in full compliance with the regulations?

It only is if it goes through conversion for some things, like DRLs etc., that are mandatory for cars here. Otherwise, yeah, partially legal.

Cars can easily be converted to comply, however. My Alfa needed a couple of things when it was brought over - its DRLs are clearly aftermarket.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

OK - I thought that any vehicle 15 years old or older could be imported without needing to make any modifications.

I spend waaaay too much time on BaT - in the US, 25 years is the magic number, so that C2 was just imported just as it turned 15 in Canada and all is well.

as I said, all is well as long as it has the minimum equipment required when imported, or they are installed prior to registration - like DRLs etc.
