According to R&T the 370Z will be 35k+ in the US. That's a big jump from the current 350Z pricing.
If true, that might suggest that Nissan wants to move the Z more upscale and fulfill the rumours of a 240SX replacement to slot in below the Z. If Nissan were to build and sell a ~270HP coupe with a turbo and RWD, and price it to compete with the MazdaSpeed3, Cobalt SS, and Cobalt SRT-4, I think it would sell. And moving the Z more upscale means less overlap - a $25k 240 and a $28k Z would be silly, but a $25k 240 and a $35k Z makes sense...
Still, I agree, that's a big jump in the price of the Z. What else is this car getting besides a bigger motor to justify the jump? An actual interior?
