It is the media...they will do whatever it takes to get people riled up.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

That guy was doing 70 in a 30 zone. That's more than 'speeding'; that's called 'criminal stupidity'.

Even more to the point, the guy was doing 70 MPH in a 30 MPH zone and passing other cars dangerously.  This is definitely not a "speeding" issue but a dangerous driving issue.

:iagree:  There's no comparing this to doing 78 mph on a 65 mph highway, which is straight and flat, on a clear day with minimal traffic (which I'll admit I do on a near-daily basis).

 :iagree:

This entire "speeding" issue in Ontario brought forth by that idiot Fantino has just spiraled out of control.  PPL traveling around on worn "all season" tires pose a much greater risk than "speeders" traveling 100 kph (62 mph) in a 80 kph (50 mph) which constitute 99% of the "highways" in Ontario.

Ontario must have the slowest speed limits in North America, but still ppl are calling for harsher laws led by that flunky Fantino.

Fantino was a good cop of the old fashioned " catch the bad guys and throw them in jail" school but the soggy left city of Toronto thought that he was unkind to poor innocent muggers and murderers and got rid of him.

So now he's making non criminals his whipping post.  I'd dunno.  I think the guy had been a weasel and ladder climber all his life.  Leaves Toronto, goes to London, leaves there, muses about politics, gets a purely political post as Ontario's security czar or whatever and then is unloaded on the poor OPP.

I understand he is now trying to ban OPP members from wearing those stetson US trooper hats.  Plus the twit goes out on the 400 and looks for speeders.  Remember when he first joined he announced Cam Wolley was thru as the media spokesman.  ???

... and what's with those black and white cars  ???  They cost more  :P

I drove to Barrie last Saturday and the speeds were 125-145kph. I then drove to London on Sunday and found the speeds were only 100-125kph.

Strange.

Came back from Parry Sound on Sunday, police everywhere on the highway, 3 people got caught speeding within an hour on our way back to Toronto. Our convoy was cruising at 110km/h, not many people passed.

OPP pulled over a a red G6 that passed us at great speed and my car, then told me I wasn't stopped and let me go.

The OPP plane starts up this weekend. Coverage is mostly Hwy 7 - Barrie I believe.
