That has to be a joke! What were the Canadian Olympic committee smoking?
Isn't it The Bay who designed these?

Oh Roots, where hath though gone!

IIRC The Bay designed the last olympics uniforms, which were a big hit.

But then the Bay was owned by Canadians then. Hmm ... :foil:

Yup, Roots lost the Olympic wear contract a few years ago.  HBC has the contract now.

I thought it went from Roots to the Bay? The Gap doesn't seem right at all.

The first batch of Bay Olympic Clothing was good, a little retro but good. These... not so much. I think I'll have to see them in person, maybe I won't be sick.

Roots also lost the contract to design for the US Olympic team.   That's two in a row...

Yeah, that's pretty old news.  The Polo outfits are pretty lame too - they look like old people's wear - but they're not as weird as the Bay's Canadian ones.

The opposition Politicians have their say about the Canadian Olympic Team athletes wearing 'Canadian Gov't Sponsored' clothing made from China tho.

Pure and simple...our home grown clothing industry simply couldn't produce enough of those to be sold en masse while keeping the cost affordable.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

A fine print in the supplier contract will do ... locally made no contract. Can't make a profit, don't friggin bid. Or is this a hand over under-the-table deal?

Of course the Chinese folks have to have a chance, they can make their own for their teams and so can We as well. Those are a sickening disgrace for our people to be using such UGLY products and from a Foreign Country alone. The Atheletes should stand -up and complain as they do deserve much better then this from Our Gov. We do have smaller production plants in Canada that can produce good profits from local workforces on smaller orders even if they are totally custom as well. As usual this year the Teams or Counties with the Best Masking Drugs will end up winning all the major events as always.  :)
