Mississauga to Quebec City on one tank of gas in the 2014 Honda Odyssey.
That means nothing to me , how many litres ? How many Kms ?

IIRC, 70L tank.  So he probably managed around 10.5L/100km.  My guess....

Got 10.0 flat in the Highlander on the to/from the mountains trip this week.  Bad compared to the high 8's I've been seeing, but I was tired after a long (47km and 1500M of vert) trail run and wanted to get home so had the speed up.

We took the Corolla to Revelstoke and back and recorded a typical 5.2 for the trip.

It tells you the Odyssey is a great family van, just put in the gas and go...how much more real world does it get?

~840 km from Mississauga to Quebec City
~78 litres of gas

So ~ 9.3 L / 100 km

I love it when a plan comes together.

^^ Well I wasn't that far off.  I wonder if the gas tank has gotten bigger.  Can't remember to be honest.  Pretty impressive numbers.  Bet I could get in the 9's without that cylinder deactivation gadget....

I went to dinner with some friends in the north west of Regina. Relatively short trip up the Ring road at 100kph for the most apart. 5.6L/100km (50 Imp mpg)! I don't think I've seen a number like that in any car I've had here.

I'm :censor: impressed!

7.4 l/100 km, mostly @ 118 km/h from Arkansas -> Dayton, OH today.  ....in my wife's Audi Q5 2.0T.  Very impressed!

Picture, or it didn't happen?  I was prepared:

That is impressive. If the gasser does that well what is the TDI doing?

Btw, do you not reset you trip between filles or is your tank that big?

Trip probably resets after the car has been shut down for enough time rather than by fillup. At least thats how the Volvo and MB work.

@mmret: correct. Though it does have impressive range with the 75 litre tank. Who needs a diesel?!

I have seen 7.5 from G to Richmond Hill with 120 on the 401 and for time reasons 100 on cruise on the 407.  (I set off allowing 85 minutes but if the traffic is not jammed up on the 401 then I need to slow up on the 407 to be on time.)
I haven't been on a long trip like yours but I suspect I'd get similar numbers.

In most articles I've read, for some reason the Passat seems to bring in better numbers than Golf / Jetta, despite the added size - go figure!!

My trip meter seems to have stabilized at 5.6 l/100km for a no-traffic commute. The fuel econ gauge resets automatically after a fill-up. I wonder if I could get it in the 4's on a road trip?

My Passat TDI has been consuming about 5.9 l/100 km (~40 mpg).

Lots of hills in Arkansas and Missouri.  Pretty flat from St. Louis onwards.  Yes, the price of gas down there was fantastically low.

Price of petrol starts at 1,62 CHF in CH......ridiculous. Good thing I tanked in France where gazole is 1,12€ like Germany.

With the slower speeds in F and even slower (painfully slow) in CH, I'm averaging 5,5 l/100km with the Air con on with mostly autoroute.

I am guessing the longer body is more aerodynamic.  Particularly vs the Golf.

I took the Rio over to Vancouver Island on the weekend. I made absolutely no attempt to save fuel and drove on mountain roads at around 120 km/h. Half the tank was in Vancouver traffic and the overall average was 6.8 L/100 km.

Modern cars use way less fuel than old ones.
