Commute to work at 100-110 kmh (spd limit or 10 over at times - i.e. driving "normal") got an avg of 7.08l/100km. Normal around 7.2. I blame it on summer gas because winter it's usually around 9, or worse.  Love summer.  Drove the tank before at 90 kmh (10 under) and got an avg of 6.34l/100 km.  Working it backwards, or forwards...or whatever, that's an extra .74 (or 3/4 to round it out) liter per 100 km more to go 10 kmh faster and arrive all of 2 minutes ~ earlier.  Say I put on 600 km before I fill up, that'd be 4.5 l more to go the same distance, or at present prices at $1.129 an extra $5 give or take a few quarters every week and a bit (3-4 fill ups per month) - that's 15-20 bucks a month for an extra 4 minutes per day.  That's a jug of milk...a 3 lb bag of carrots and some celery...a McDouble and fries and a large Coke...(almost).  Hmmm...some days it just feels worth it to go faster.  Other days...I like the slower pace and watching people freak out because they don't know how to pass someone going 10 under the spd limit (rural empty roads too...apparently no one knows how to judge distance, even when the oncoming car is 3 miles away. They see headlights...then they wait. FFS.)

Did a reset just before a trip to the mountains on Sunday, and then now after 4 days of urban driving, sitting at 5,8 l/100km. Quite excellent; the DCT transmission and Stop-Start Automatic definitely helps minimise consumption.

The Passat TDI has been returning 37 to 40 mpg (6.4 to 5.9 L/100 Km?). Fuel economy with the last tank was 39 mpg. It is used more for city driving than highway.

Well, first tank on the Olds from fill to fill and it's 13.48L/100 which included some driving in Barrie so not too bad for what it is. And I filled it at half a tank so it may average better once I get a few tanks to compare. My problem is it takes a while as it took me over a week to even use a 1/2 tank.
It is a GM , 1/2 tank is actually 3/4 of a tank

Did 2500 km in the first week with our Tesla Model S on road trips through Ontario and New York.
Averaged 215 Wh/km (21.5 kWh/100 km) on highway (+) speeds.
Cost for "fuel" was $10 for that entire distance, most of it was on Tesla Superchargers ("free" with purchase of the car ;-)

That is better than the average on my Smart Electric Drive in the city at low speeds!

Nothing is free, it is built in the price of the car

Um, exactly as I said "free with the purchase of the car", I even put a smiley face...

Like I said, free, as in, I didn't pay to charge.  I dropped into the Toronto Tesla service center today, and during my short time in the store, the supercharger added a weeks full of km to the car battery, again, I didn't pay for the charge, no cost.

Despite a lot of people dinging the ECE testing cycle, I actually seem to be able to nearly achieve the ECE numbers for my Ford Mondeo with the 2,0 TDCi (180PS) engine.

Urban: 5,4 l/100km. Okay, perhaps not here. Realistically more like 6 to 6,5 l/100km.
Extra-urban: 4,5 l/100km. Check! I can get 4,6 l/100km easily.
Combined: 4,9 l/100km. Very possible.....if I didn't have such a German leadfoot on the autobahn ! ;). Lower-mid 5s is totally feasiable though below 130km/h.

Consider this: Last weekend when I was doing long-distance on mostly derestricted autobahn, I had average of 6,5 l/100km. I know that sounds terrible, but I spent pretty much the entire drive on "the far side" of the speedometer (140-180 km/h) with the Air Con on.

Every time I turn off my car, the display shows its energy average consumption. For unknown reason, the display tops at 99.99km whatever the distance I did but the data displayed is right if I compare the odometer versus the central display for the kWh, bizarre!

Last Wednesday: 150'ish km each way, I must mention that I drove slower than usual  8)

Sunny, 23-24C, no wind

Evening, 16-17C, no wind, back to home.

Came back from camping with an 8' pop up trailer (around 1200lbs when loaded).  I usually average 11.5L/100km with the Odyssey, with the trailer I averaged 12.5L/100km (AC on).  Total trip was 550km, 275km was with the trailer averaging 95km/h (secondary roads with a speed limit of 80km/h).  With the van 3/4 full, and towing a small trailer, I noticed very little difference. Should have filled up north!  Got back gas was $124.9 compare to $115.9

That's great towing mileage!

We did a 1200km round trip to the mountains and back in the Highlander with five people and climbing gear AND the roof box on and full and got 9.5L/100km - very acceptable, but did keep to the posted limit the entire trip except for the last 80km we did at 130 as everyone was "shower ready!"

HOLEY@!@@ I've never seen better efficiency in either of my EV's, that is like getting 200MPG in a gas car!
No wonder you could get 300 km out of that Spark.
Cudo's!

We've been getting about 7 L/100 km in the Cooper S. Pretty damn good.

Thank you.  ;) but to get things straight here, I recharged using this DCFC in between, the Bolt would be 300km, not my little Spark EV.
I only have 17.3 kWh usable on my 21.4 kWh battery. Source, figure 5 http://gm-volt.com/2013/08/02/spark-ev-versus-volt-battery/
I you do the math, even using (9.8 + 10.7) /2= 20.5/2= avg 10.25kwh/100 km, if 300km => then 30.75 kWh required! And those were done along optimal summer time conditions, but thanks anyway  ;D

In the bottom of my previous post there was a link related to that http://www.autos.ca/forum/index.php?topic=93519.msg1123278#msg1123278

Gas stations must have cleared out any winter gas. The last 2 fill-ups have been my best mileage by far of the year on the Legacy. Got 7.9L\100 mixed driving. Something like 2L\100 better than my winter driving.

I would hope so!  It's mid July.  They usually start in April.  Surprised you see such a huge difference, I only see 1L/100km (on both vehicles).

Ottawa - Cambridge = 6.95 L/100

Cruise set at 119 kph and didn't have to touch my brakes until I got off the highway in Cambridge. Think that is a first and probably last time it will happen. Of course I left Ottawa at 9:30pm Sunday so I'm sure that helped.

At 5:30 pm it was stop and go by Cobourg, so it guess you were lucky
