You needed 1/2" copper line for that distance and in the K code type as well. The stuff with the yellow coating is approved for the outdoor and would be the right stuff for sure. The prices on Copper have gone up quite a bit so thats why his price is so high. Even the shutoff valves are pricey as well and you need 3 of them at least as well.  :)

Well, I talked to another gas guy.  He quoted between $300 - $400 due to the location.

I've decided to sell my NG BBQ and get a Propane one. 

Good idea. Its much shorter hook up that way.
