Toyota added the Nav option for the Corolla, and I thought, hey, maybe I'll go back and pick it up.  $1800?  Youch!!!  Not gonna.

Consider that is about 10% of the price of the car.  As for the Fit, I'd prefer if they dropped the Nav as standard on any model and shaved $1500 off the price.

Was reading an article saying the '09 Fit will have no options, just dealer accessories in Canada.

When is Honda Canada going to get the '09 Fit info on their site?  Honda USA has had it for a couple weeks now.  Get to work, you slackers!

Very nice indeed.   I think I prefer the new dash to our 2007 and I really like the red.    Mrs tpl wanted blue so thats what we have.

Very nice, looks great in red.   I wish that Honda would offer a no-cost spoked alloy wheel option to replace those disk-style ones, though. I commented on them in another thread and someone noted that they're used on Honda's hybrid models. They may be OK on those, but they don't suit this car IMO.

Enjoy your new Fit, and keep us posted. :)

:iagree:  My first words to the salesman would be "I want proper alloys, or a discount big enough to buy some."  Those hybrid-style wheels are truly awful...

Otherwise, the car looks fantastic.  Brilliant in red!

I liked the aluminum rims on the Hybrid, as it was Honda tradition to have lightweight aluminums on their most fuel efficient models (Civic VX, HX, etc).

They added it last year on Civic manuals to meet the EcoAuto threshold.

Didn't think they'd continue with them now that EcoAuto is gone and they really don't suit the Fit (tho are somehow appealing in a geeky-eco-sense). Only reason I could see if if the wheels really do give a 1mpg advantage over a competitor like Yaris, which buyers would probably respond to just as strongly as the wheels.

Oh, and congrats on your Fit!

Thanks, I have to say I don't like these wheels as well but my wife doesn't mind and since it will be her car...

In BC, the government took over the EcoAuto, so we got $1000 off the PST

Insanely expensive for what it is, with both, high MSRP AND high interest.  :o
I guess Honda can still afford it and they do it.

Had the Fit for a couple of days, and I must say it's a pleasure to drive and that I agree with all the positive aspects mentioned in the Canadiandriver "first drive". (Sorry I am too lazy to repeat things that have already been said)

So overall quite happy with the Fit, I can think of only 3 things that bugs me with this car (Not including the ugly wheels)

1. The fuel lid door that doesn't lock
2. The parcel shelf being an option
3. The parcel shelf design

About 3.: The shelf doesn't extend until the back of the rear seat, it leaves a large gap between the seats and shelf.
To cover the gap a piece of cloth hangs from the shelf and has to be attached to the back of the seat with pushing buttons.
Note that originally there are not pushing buttons on the back of the seat so you have to install them.

That parcel shelf design is bad I agree and its optionality.   Don't care about the fuel filler myself.

I dislike that the three lock cylinders ( front doors and hatch) do not all work the same way, that is that one twist of the key  opens the door you are at and two twists open everything.  I intend to see if the remote opener is a dealer accessory and if so get it installed.    I am, however, grateful that the doors don't lock when you start moving... I hate that and always have it disabled on my cars.

Could be cheaper to get a remote starter with a door opener then to get it from the dealer

i'd rather have the official Honda thing and certainly would never use a remote starter
