I think it looks great, very infinity-esque.

That said, ever since the Altima has grown in size and G35 hit the scene the Maxima has been an odd duck in the family.  I was hoping that Nissan was going to differentiate the Maxima more than they did.

It looks like the bastard child of a Scion and an Infiniti...and I mean that in the worst possible way.

I will admit that the interior is very nice, and a huge upgrade from previous Maximas.

Well,I like it (at least compared to the present generation). We may have to reconsider the decision we had pretty well made to move on when our 05 Max goes back.

I like. I always thought the last version looked like a whale.

Not really digging it, tho interior appears inviting and warm. A little too overstyled and interior probably not as big as the external size may suggest.

A huge improvement. The last iterations of the Maxima have been a real let downs. This one looks the part...although I'm not ready for a "real" 4 door myself.

I don't think Nissan knows what to do with the Maxima (or what it's intended market is these days). It's getting squeezed from below by the V6  Altima and it's pretty clear that the G37 is filling the old "Four Door Sports Car" niche.

Our family had an '87 that was a great, great car.

I've had a soft spot for them since...but alas...not available in manual any longer.

I agree with others that the Maxima is in a real no-man's land between the Altima 3.5 (quite a nice car in its own right) and the G35.  I can't think of a single buyer who would be better off with a Maxima than either a loaded Altima (for FWD-friendly, gadget-loving folks) or a stripped G35 (for the enthusiasts).

I find the massive upright front grille hideous, as if it came off a Chinese car, blech.  The sides, back and interior look nice however.

I think the reason some manufacturers are styling their cars like trucks in the front is to grab buyers who are leaning towards CUV's.  Ironically, the Nissan Rogue looks sleeker than this new Maxima.

It has a very unique exterior design but it's too busy for me. The mix of sharp edges and curves don't work for me. It also looks like Nissan hasn't a clue with what the front end of their vehicles should look like and each new car is a market test.

I thought Nissan was going to up-size the Maxima and make it an Avalon competitior.

Seems like they actually shrinked the dimensions, so it is now a more upscale Altima but without the Infiniti badge.

If Lexus can make the ES350, a FWD vehicle, successful in a luxury line-up.
Why can't Nissan drop the Maxima, and revive the Infiniti I35 and make it successful in their line-up?

OR why don't they stop growing the Altima and stepping on their own product's toes.
