It really needs 16" alloy wheels and foglights for cosmetic reasons. The light-blue one with steel wheels and wheel covers doesn't look good.
I suspect the purple one has 17” though.

I think the problem is the designers built the concept vehicles with huge alloy wheels, then when the accounting department mandates tiny steelies for cost purposes the car looks silly.

So, to WpgMonty's list of Ford NA people to be replaced..... add the accountants.... actually add anyone with an MBA as well

The light blue with tiny 14" and steel wheels is the  Econetic Fiesta (Fords green car) powered by a 1.6-litre diesel unit which is said to produce 89bhp and importantly, just 98g/km of CO2. Ford reckons it should also manage a combined fuel consumption figure of 76mpg. That would make it the cleanest family car on sale today - even cleaner than a Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion.

"Lowered ride height and aerodynamic details such as wheel covers and wheel deflectors build on Fiesta’s already streamlined drag co-efficient (Cd) of 0.33.

At the same time, low rolling resistance tyres in an economical 175/65 R14 profile, a longer final drive gear ratio and special lubricants drive efficient powertrain performance, especially in highway cruising.  In conjunction with energy partner BP, Ford has developed low-viscosity transmission and low-friction engine oils for ECOnetic models.

Such modifications create Fiesta ECOnetic’s class-leading efficiency, without sacrificing the driving quality, style or practicality of the core Fiesta range"
http://media.ford.com/translate/article_display.cfm?article_id=28674&make_id=trust

Ford will offer lots of wheel choices(sizes) etc to make for a more flashy looking car.

Reading through the articles it seems like the Zetec S (the black 3-door) has 16". That one looks fine to me. 17" would look even better and perhaps they would come standard on the Titanium models.

Sky Motoring states: "First impressions from the floor? Well, we haven't found a better finished interior in this segment..." This can only be a good thing given the company on the show floor.

The little Fiesta Cabrio looks nice too but I think we are not going to see this here ever.

A bit off-topic, but still related. Few pictures of the facelifted Euro-Focus. I wonder if they are real and this is what we are getting here in 2011. In any case, I like it better than the current version.

I actually owned a '79 Ford Fiesta Sport with the 1.3 liter and a 4 speed. It was a rocket on wheels. Seriously. Apparently the U.S. version had a 1.6 liter and a 5 speed, I think, but here in Canada Ford just imported the German built version without changes. It was strippo (no glove box and no radio) but it weighed next to nothing, and in the summer Mrs. Monty could get it to chirp the tires changing into third gear. IIRC, it redlined at near 8000 RPM. It was unlike anything built in NA at the time.

More than once I buried the speedometer needle at 240kms... a frightening rush of adrenalin, considering the it only weighed about 2000 lbs.

You had the 'big engine' version. I drove a 1 liter Fiesta around Europe, at 160 max on the autobahn. For a little square box of a car with tiny tires that felt plenty fast enough! Very nice to throw around the curvy B roads though, and it held lots.

^^^^Hmmmmm....I really have no way to prove to you, so I guess your BS is warranted.   :'(  All I can tell you...is we are doing them...and North American only version (we often do versions for several markets).

Sorry I can offer much more than that.....

Do they look the same as seen on the Euro model?

I think Ford has actually got "it", and GM is much closer to figuring "it" out:

Ford:

http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/Guides_and_Advice/article.aspx?cp-documentid=8995437

This was the bit that got me excited:
"It's also staggeringly green. Ford will sell an ECOnetic version, emitting a mere 98g/km of CO2, and officially averaging 76.3mpg. That's fewer emissions and more economy than a Prius - for, at £11,845, many thousands less."

GM:

http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/GreenCentre/article.aspx?cp-documentid=8790083

Here's what stood out, to me, anyway:
"One of most affordable gas-electric vehicles
While the mild hybrid design is less effective than a full hybrid in terms of fuel and emission savings, it is much less complicated and less expensive allowing GM to sell the Malibu Hybrid at several thousand dollars less than full-hybrid competitors."

Now I know guys like ArcticSteve are going to jump all over this, but the review on the Malibu was done by the AJAC, a group formerly notoriously anti-Detroit Three, and pro Toyota/Honda, so high praise indeed.

Is it too late for the Detroit Three? Not if they keep improving with each new model or updated models.

Ford of Europe apparently rocks over there. Why wasn't Ford NA paying attention?

Looks like a euro-spec Fiesta, but I have not seen those wheels on any pics from over here.

Ford UK has the Fiesta microsite going http://www.fordeumicrosites.com/fiesta/prelaunch/default.asp?locale=en-gb
