Hey JSCC, did VW lower dealer invoice by the same amount as the MSRP reduction?

Don't know, I don't have access to invoice anymore.

My guess is "yes", VW's don't have enough markup to absorb that kind of price drop.

Aiming for coporate positions, but not easy.
Hope good things happen when I go to the autoshow next week.  ;D

Still not on par with the US, but getting better.

I'd like to see how Honda, GM, et al react to this and Toyota's price drops.

Judging form January sales figures, I think Nissan and Mazda would follow before Honda does.

I was never a VW fan until last year when my cousin got a job as sales manager at a VW dealership, the demo vehicles he showed me really turned me into a fan.  This is a good move on VW's part, it makes their vehicles that much more attractive.

Good luck JSCC!

I think the price decreases are very positive. With the Cities, can't move much lower with Rabbit and Jetta. Jetta V is selling pitifully right now, TDI will help - awesome pricing on that - but they need to get 2.5's going again. The Passat 2.0T decrease is particularly fantastic - it's a great roomy German car, now at a competitive price with mainstreamers. 3.6L 4MOTION is high-ish, but no longer outrageous. GTI isn't much more than Civic Si and comfortably under WRX. Touareg is closer to mainstream now too, but all the luxury brands are ultra competitive with their utes today.

Can only hope Tiguan is adjusted downward too. And, you know, a TDI comes.

Oh, and that next year the vehicles aren't decontented to 4 tires and steering wheel.

I wonder if we're not going to see more "decontenting" as the manufacturers try and come up with new "Strong Canadian Dollar" pricing?

still overpriced.... Tiguan was ok..nothing special...interior actually kinda cheap when you consider you're paying 30K+

VW's are nice looking cars...but value and reliability will continue to dog this company...

I think, other than higher-end models such as Passat 3.6 or Touareg, the new prices, especially of Rabbit, Jetta, and Passat 2.0T, are quite competitive.

I think you will stand alone in saying the Tiguan interior was cheap. Interesting are people's interpretations.

I haven't seen the inside of the new Tiguan yet but I'm sure its on par with the Jetta/Rabbit and both of those look great. Their pricing is quite fair for what you get also. Sounds like you don't like VW much  ???

I will say this much; the Rabbit and Jetta interior are gorgeous. The Tig is not so gorgeous... cheaper, harder plastic and I don't like the centre stack...looks like the Fit somehow.. Considering it's 5 to 10 k more than the aforementioned, it's somewaht of a letdown if you're shopping for it

Does the MSRP for the Jetta TDI include the ECO rebate?

No... it is a gov't rebate that you receive after your purchase.
