Ten gazillion high-res pictures here:

http://www.netcarshow.com/acura/2009-tsx/

The exterior is a definite downgrade, and I'm unhappy that they made it bigger instead of sportier, but at least the interior is nice:

I'm with you Mitlov, I don't like the more Accord/Camry-like (i.e. more bloated) shape of the body, but the interior looks refreshing.

I'm glad at least it retains the same sporty driving feel according to Car and Driver's First Drive.

But I'm glad I didn't wait for the 2nd generation TSX. It didn't get any sportier in appearance or performance.

That grille is most distressing.

I don't think it has THAT many more buttons than the 04-07 NAV model, but yeah it does look like the Starship Enterprise.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

I just don't understand why a company that has all the components to make a truly brilliant parts-bin special...doesn't.  It just doesn't make sense to me.  I really hope Autoblog is wrong on this one, because a turbocharged SH-AWD TSX with a six-speed manual at US$35,000 would be doable, profitable, and a very credible threat to the 328i and G35.

I hope Autoblog is wrong, but I fear they're right.

I wish Acura would just go all out with the SHAWD and turbos.

Could you imagine a Civic/CSX body shell, Civic Si suspension, SHAWD, RDX turbo four? Its like a non-ugly WRX with a nicer interior!

I've been calling for that since the RDX came out.  I thought it was a no-brainer for the second-gen TSX.  But who needs turbos or AWD when you can have a long front overhang and lots of buttons?   ::)

Automobile Magazine chatted with an Acura exec about the new TSX.

The good news: in 2010, a diesel TSX is definitely coming.  150 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque at 2000 rpm, and it's fifty-state legal (read: very clean because Californians are nuts) without urea injection.

The bad news: the turbocharged mill from the RDX doesn't fit.  The second-gen TSX will not come with that engine--not this year, not next year, not ever.  Seriously, guys?  You have the perfect drivetrain for a compact sport sedan in the RDX, and you can't put it in your compact sports sedan?  I appreciate that Acura is trying to make the TSX a parts-bin-special from Europe, but this really shows the shortcomings of that approach in my opinion.

I find it funny how backyard mechanics can shoehorn a 5L engine into a Miata but the masterminds at Acura can't get the turbo into the TSX?

That was the model I was really looking forward too. I'll wait and see if I like the diesel or not.

Maybe it's because manufacturers have to worry about certification and other safety tests that backyard mechanics aren't subject to?

Now that just takes all the fun out of it.  :P

Whoa, I wouldn't go that far, haha! (re Cavalier), but I'd compare its looks to, say, the Camry. So, I think it's lost its edge. So, what is it trying to be now??

Interesting about the diesel Mitlov. I'll want to try it (juicy torque number!), but I doubt I'd ever change my TSX for it, I like my old one better.

I think the new exterior TSX design is garbage.  Will certainly not be replacing my Acura EL with anything from the Acura product line.  Can we say Lexus Is250? yup!

Wow!  To those who purchased a 2008 or earlier TSX, I say:  WHEW!!!  You made your purchase just in time!

Methinks that aftermarket grilles for '09+ TSXs might become a profitable business for whoever can make some low-key attractive ones.

It's more of an impulse thing... At first, the new TSX headlights instantly reminded me of the '03+ Cavalier headlights...

Acura is coming out with some questionable designs.  This TSX just isn't doing it for me.  "Mid"-cycle refresh in 1 year?
