Any info on the 2009 Acura TSX and RL?
« on: January 17, 2008, 10:39:45 am »
According to Temple of Vtec, the next-generation TSX and mid-updated RL should be in USA showrooms by April.
http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=732167

But there is no info about those two vehicles on www.honda.co.jp
Does this mean a North American launch will be scheduled before/at the same time as the Japanese launch?  ???

Wow... A TSX wagon would perfect..

What an innovative idea!  A floating needle!

I just have this odd sense of deja vu:

From what I've read, a "floating needle" is cool at first but harder to read than a traditional gauge.  I wonder why Honda went with those sorts of needles for both gauges.

The interval markings on the TSX seem to be above the needle, on the MB (i think it is a MB) the needle is above the interval markings.

Yeah, that's the 2008 C-Class.

S80/V70/XC70 has it too I think.

Allows big numbers and guages with info in the middle, plus just a little more techi. Good idea, so long as the 'needle' marking is bright or distinguishable. I happen to really like the appearance.

Euro Accord/TSX wagon would be most welcome in my driveway - and I am not a Honda fan at all. Nevertheless, to me, this may well be the most attractive looking vehicle to come out of Honda's design studios since the original Prelude (I loved the looks of that car).

With North America being so estate-unfriendly, I wonder if it will ever show its face on our shores.

I would guess not.

How many 3 Series BMW wagons do you see? VERY little.

The Lexus IS300 Sportcross or whatever. I have seen ONE of those on the road. Very very rare.

While it is rather nice, the TSX one has one ring too many, imo. MB has it right but they obviously need a higher res LCD in there :P

Seems like the new "Bucktooth" grille is Acura's new design direction!  ;D

Yawn....well, at least they didn't screw it up too much.

Like the Mazda6, I see no burning desire for anyone I know to wait for the new model (unlike the A4).

Except the likely engine choices:
- 2.3L I4 turbo (from RDX), SH-AWD (possible on Type-S)
- Turbo diesel w/ over 250ft-lb torque, possible SH-AWD.
http://www.caranddriver.com/autoshows/14576/2009-european-honda-accordacura-tsx.html
Those choices alone make the 09 TSX REALLY attractive to me... I'd consider trading my 2004 TSX in for the Type-S for sure!
