yup... saw a white one the other day...

You know it's a good looking car when a "non-car enthusiast" person asks you what that "gorgeous thing...a 4-door" was in the VW dealership.

i saw the CC next to the ordinary passat and wondered why vw is keeping both models.  for me the CC is so much better looking.   are they concerned about inconvenience of ingress/egress for the rear passengers?

The CC is a 4-seater.

it's a very  nice car inside and out, the only real issue I have is that the moonroof does not fully open, it only vents up an inch

If they needed to pare down the line (not sayin' they do, but if), they could likely get away with the CC and the Passat wagon.  The latter would serve the more utilitarian role, with the former pickin' up the style point for the fashion-conscious.

I believe 2009MY is the last year for the standard Passat Sedan in North America. I prefer it to the CC, tho admit the CC looks richer.

Then what's next from VW ? Clearly the CC is not the direct replacement for the Passat in North America. I've read rumours about VW wanting to create a domestic Uncle Sam version of the Passat to cater for 'American tastes' but I'm not sure if the new VW plant down in Tennessee will be up and running for MY 2010 production.

I wouldn't mind a re-badged version of the Euro Skoda Superb V-dub offshoot, which doubles up as both a sedan AND a hatchback.....

I LOVE the Skoda Superb, and the room it offers would be great for this market.

Think the NA Passat replacement is set for 2011MY but 'Passat' will continue on in some form was what I read, in addition to the Jetta replacement 'new compact'. If they drop the Jetta nameplate they'd be fools... can't imagine? Don't have the scoop.

I think the passat is quite a bit cheaper.. starts at around $28k and includes anything you'll ever need really..

the one I saw in the showroom 2 weeks or so ago.. was $28,395 or something like that MSRP of course. A 'base' model far from basic.

Don't know about the CC.
