Must be, for $27k in the US you can get some fairly serious car, no?
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.
That makes me feel angry!

"Despite the added power this engine will return fuel
efficiency figures that will be similar to the previous TDI engine, which,
were 5.1 litres/100 km on the highway."

5.1 lites/100 km is disappointing :o
This is a large car, probably 2x the size of your Echo

For a modern diesel....yea.....

And the Jetta only has marginally more room than the Echo in one interior dimension only...shoulder room.  The Echo is the same or exceeds the Jetta in every other category for interior dimensions..(legroom same front and rear, Echo has more headroom front and rear, etc..)

Though the Jetta is quite a few rungs up on the "niceness" factor...

Who cares about the exterior dimensions if the interior dimension is almost the same?? :)

The exterior dimension make it a mid-size nearly.  But the interior is a compact to sub-compact....

;D

Jetta trunk is huge. I didn't notice that it was all that small inside...I would think that it would be considerably bigger than an Echo but maybe the Echo is just freakishly big / space efficient?
