personal preferences on new models
« on: January 10, 2008, 12:15:35 pm »
If you were spending between 50 to 60k which would you pick - Mercedes C350, BMW 335, Audi A4, Infiniti G and any other suggestions excluding any front wheel drive models.  Also if you were spending 80 to 100k what would you pick?  BMW 550,  Merecedes E550,  Lexus LS460,  Audi A6 or perhaps a used E63 Mercedes or BMW M5?  Just curious?

Strictly sedans in order of preference...

Audi A6 (tho I'd opt for the Avant) or Infiniti M35X.

Benz E320 BLUETEC, Audi A8L, 535XiTouring M-Sport, or stretch for an S-Class. Possibly the LS460L slotting after the A8L if I planned to own long term.

First price range: BMW 335i if someone else was giving me the money, G35 if it was my own cash (so I got to pocket the price difference).

Second price range: Nissan GT-R.  I've got no desire to own a luxo-barge.

$50-60K - BMW 335i

$80-100K - BMW 550i (can't get an M5 under $100k new). If spending $100k, I want new.

An AMG Benz or a BMW 550i or M5 is NOT a luxo-barge at all. Drive them and see !!!  ::) ::) :)

Replace "luxo-barge" with "large sedan" then.

100k? Easy - Porsche Cayman S. Leftover will fund my winter beater. Maybe an Areo or a cheap impreza.

BMW and BMW with Audi and Audi as the second choice (AWD too).
G35 it's nice and cheaper, but not my first option if money wouldn't be the issue.

I'm with ghost on this one:  Cayman S please for the $100k mark.  Or, better yet, I'll pick up a 911 C4S in the States and bring it over.  $89,700 MSRP.

For the 'lesser cars' -- the 335 would be my choice.

In a world where the dead are returning to life, the word "trouble" loses much of its meaning.

BMW every time. On one of my more extravagant days I may even consider an AMG.
