Today's Test Drive:
2007 Chrysler Aspen Limited

2007 Chrysler Aspen LimitedLimited: Based on the Dodge Durango, the Chrysler Aspen is a luxuriously equipped seven-seater SUV that can tow up to 8,750 lbs, reports contributor Peter Bleakney.  Though well-priced, it doesn't have the cachet of the 'Sclades and Hummers, he says.

That central console is a catastrophe. :P

Typical cheap Chrysler interior :hurl:

Winklovic speaks for me. A perfect illustration of why Chrysler deserves to die. Lousy design; dated mechanicals; cheap interior; fuel inefficient; a decade behind the automotive zeitgeist; etc., etc., etc...

The first thing I noticed about the dash was the bright, fake wood trim.  The second was the oddly angled / curved cowling over the guages.  The third was the gauges, which are the only things I like.

The fourth thing, however, deserves special mention.  Did anyone notice how the console between the seats does NOT line up with the central instrument column?  There might be sound ergonomic reasons for this but it looks very jarring from an aesthetic point of view.  :P :hurl:

The interior is ugly.
The exterior is ugly.
It is too big for the interior room and gets poor fuel economy.

Wow, what's not to love...

Bling factor? I assume this is the same line of Bling associated with most large Crossovers / SUVs?

Plenty of better and bling-er choices for the price imo.

Bling (noun): expensive, garish jewelry and other accoutrements.  An X5 or MDX may be better, but they're less bling.  The Escalade is more bling, and the Navigator may be.  But nothing else pops to mind.

I'm not a fan of bling, but hey, it worked for Cadillac.  I think Chrysler wants a piece of that pie.

We don't get the lifetime warranty here.  US only.  And we don't have near the "bling" culture you guys have.  That thing has no appeal.
