WOW....It seems Infiniti is really getting closer and closer to "out BMWing" BMW! (and when  you factor in reliability there really is an arguement for the G)....Now, if they'd only price it so you wouldn't have to go to all the trouble of buying accross the border....34995-36265 US vs close to 50K in Canada!
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Looks like a good package.  Wow, they're packing these luxury cars with a lot of gizmos.

Is this car better than the BMW 335?

Will the 3.7L engine end up in the 350Z, I guess it'll be called 370Z?

No problem anymore... Nissan/Infiniti dealers in the US are no longer allowed to sell to Canadians. Problem solved... ::)

The G is a nice coupe....and a very worthy competitor for the German coupes out there.

I really like this profile look of the new G.

From a driver perspective the difference is subtle. During my short time in cars with and without 4WAS on dry roads, the most notable difference was during quick lane changes. The G with 4WAS did it with ease and was more stable. ...  Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) is another option. I was impressed by how quickly it was able to identify and maintain a set distance from a vehicle ahead. The system uses laser sensors and it can also recognize when a sudden braking situation arises.

To me, those are over kill technos, especially in a sports car coupe. People who can't do lane changes and maintain good a concentration in traffic shouldn't be driving.

I think the new G37 is a great coupe, and I'm sure BMW welcomes the competition for the 335i coupe. That's what makes each one better, and the consumer is the ultimate winner in such contests.

It does, you get the Sport pkg (the M6 G37).

Is this car better than the BMW 335?

It depends on what you're looking for.  The G37 offers a tad more straight-line performance, but a tad less suspension composure (the differences sound small to me, according to reviews I've read).  The G37 is far cheaper than a comparably-equipped 335i--perhaps 3/4 the price--but it will depreciate somewhat faster and it has less badge prestige.

A G37 M6 in Canada is just under $50K, a similar equipped 335i coupe is just under $60K. A roughly $10k difference in Canada. But, as Mitlov says, the G37 may depreciate faster. You make the call as to which one you'd buy - I know my choice.  ;D

In the US we're talking a difference between a $36,000 car and a $45,000 car.  80% of the price.  And the extra interest from financing the Bimmer would wipe out the benefit of slower depreciation.

ovr50 would likely take the Bimmer.  I'd be tempted by the G37, because, among other things, I like my cars to have dipsticks.

Mitlov - you gotta know how I will reply to that post - right?  As in if you buy the car, it will have a dipstick.... ;) ;) ;D

Well, you set it up and left yourself open - you know I'm kidding ya.

And yes, I would take the Bimmer.  :) (But the g37 is a helluva car also).
