Improved crash protection, better fuel economy, superior transmission choices, and more interior room and cargo space are the major improvements to the redesigned 2007 Mini Cooper, reports Editor-in-chief, Greg Wilson.   But the new interior is still "cartoonish".

I hadn't realized before now that the rear part of the sunroof vented. Kewl.

Why-oh-why would someone go and wreck this car by putting an auto-tranny in it? It should be against the law! ;)

Why not, gives them a large market to sell in the car

Doesn't bother me if people buy autos in a car like this. A lot are bought by older folks as well who used to a MGB or Miata or something and this is more practical less work for them. An auto might work real well for them. Personally I wouldn't buy one with an auto but as long as they keep selling a manual box then ok. A real travesty would be if it was auto only.

For those of us who might use it as a commuter, because we have a real  ;) sports car at home (that is manual).  Especially for those of us who have health issues that make manuals painful/problematic.

:iagree: I would still drive a manual IF I had a slushbox backup car, but since I'm pretty much limited to one vehicle, I need an automatic. It's all to easy to be judgmental (or perhaps just "mental"  ???).  ;)

I will gladly drive an auto transmission car for daily commute. If I have enough money, perhaps a manual transmission for weekend or fun drives.  :)
