Just finished a survey for BMW, about 1 series
128I cost will be $32,500 to $38,000
135I cost will be $38,000 to $43,000
and they may bing the cab over

Considering that it is typical of BMW Canada to introduce an additional entry level model below what the US gets (we have our 320i when the US starts with a 325i, and then a 323i when the US starts with the 328i), it makes me wonder if a 123i would start at $29,999.

I'm sure if a 1 Series comes to Canada, we will see the entry model with 200hp and in the low $30s (just like the Audi A3).   So a 123i is quite possible.

Now lets just hope they bring the hatchback instead of the coupe to Canada (and a diesel model would be the icing on the cake!)  :)
Viva el coche!

I know there is no 123i announced at the moment, but if you look back in time, there was no 320i initially during lauch of the E46. And there was no 323i either during the launch of the E90. This is only the proper business tactic, where you lure the early adopters who are willing to pay more money with the more expensive models first, and then you offer something cheaper to get the remaining people who are less willing to pay, but still wants your goods.

I would imagine that the 1-series coupe would require a different set of certification and red tape than the coupe, so BMW may not bring that model in. I am quite optimistic about a 123i though.

Not surprising.   All the bits apart from the body shell are the same and therefore weigh the same and the body shell, although smaller, has to be a bit stronger if anything,  as it has to absorb the same crash forces in a smaller distance.   Also the body is NOT much smaller, it still has to seat 4 humans of whatever standard size BMW uses when they design a car.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

There are much better pix than those available, those have all the "spy shot masking" on them. The 1 Series looks far better than that.  :P

Nice shots of a montego blue 135i lapping the ring.
That M aerokit looks pretty sweet on it...as does the colour.

Is it me or what that the car looks like Chris Bangle grabbed a giant mallet and hammered the front and rear end of a 3-series? Reminds me of Tatu.

I find the sides a bit overly sculptured, but in general, I quite like it.  ;)

It looks pretty nice, but put it next to a E90 Coupe (E91?) or a E46 and for me its firmly in 3rd.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

Why does a hitting a car with hammers remind you of two Russian pop stars?  Am I missing something here?
