It looks pretty nice, but put it next to a E90 Coupe (E91?) or a E46 and for me its firmly in 3rd.

Agreed... but when you factor in 300 ponies and a (hopefully) much cheaper cost of admission, it suddenly becomes even more attractive.  :)

Is it me or what that the car looks like Chris Bangle grabbed a giant mallet and hammered the front and rear end of a 3-series? Reminds me of Tatu.

Why does a hitting a car with hammers remind you of two Russian pop stars?  Am I missing something here?

Woops my bad. I meant Tattoo.

The E92 Coupe is (in my opinion) the most attractive car BMW makes today.  But I think the 1er has a nice look to it.  Not nearly as "sexy" as the E92, more like a little bulldog or something.  If I could get a 135i (which comes standard with that M-kit) for near (or hopefully less) than a 328i Coupe, it'll be a very attractive option.

Besides I don't forsee any babies in my near future and I don't particularily like driving friends around.  I smell some test drives coming next spring (335i, 135i, and G37).  Hopefully I don't come to my senses before then :)

+1.  Do it.  Just do it.  I spotted a black 335i with some aftermarket 19" mesh rims that had a nice lip on it.....oh that car has the stance.

No doubt about it, the e92 is a far better looking car, but the power to weight ratio of the 135i is hard to beat.  If it comes in anywhere near (or below) a 328i...there will be a new car at the top of my list next year.

The 135 was featured on Car Business tonight on BNN. The boys drove a 130 and the Hydrogen 7 around and had Bangle show them a rather pretty bright red 135. I wonder if it will be big enough inside.... 'cos it will be a good deal cheaper than a 335

If thats what you're after, then yes. For me, between a E92 (thanks for the correction ovr) 328Ci and 135 (would those be close in price?) I'd take the 3 any day.

Excellent... you and your brother can warm up the sweet deals at B-K Motors in the next year -to-year-and-a-half, then I"ll go up and reap the rewards in two years when it's time to replace the MX5.

Vman... of course you have no more use for your backseat -- rumour has it you're gettin' hitched!

Does anyone have the power to weight's of the various models anywhere?

Dear Mrs. Mitlov,

I'm a good husband and a good father.  I bust my butt every day to pay the rent and take care of our baby.  When I read deposition transcripts for eight hours, it's all for you, baby.  And I'm a pretty selfless guy.  You know how last night, when Jackson vomited in his high chair, and an hour later pooped in the bathtub, I cleaned up both?  And I didn't complain about it?

So don't I deserve a little treat?  We could share my Subaru and call it the family car, and I could have a little something-something as my daily driver to work and the store.  I won't check any options boxes.  I'll be happy with leatherette and manually adjustable seats.  But please, baby, can I have a 1-series coupe?  Pleeeeeeeease?

Lovingly whipped,
Mr. Mitlov

This post is so funny!

This is supposed to be a "purer" BMW experience than the 3-series huh?

Very interesting.
