Message boards are interesting aren't they?!
How did an article about the MazdaSpeed3 end-up about Arnold Schwarzenegger (thank god for FireFox 2.0 spell check).   :rofl2:

There is common denominator with all dysfunctional deviations from the subject at hand.  :)

I have a speed3, and all those here speculating about the torque steer need to go drive one.   I have had no situations in the car where "the wheel is nearly ripped from my hands", in fact this car has less torque steer issues then my old Infiniti G20 with 140hp had.  Before getting this car I had not owned a FWD car for 4 years, and still own a RWD wagon in the form of a BMW 540 touring.  If I have a choice of which car to drive I pick Mazda everytime, it is more fun and is guaranteed to put a smile on my face on every drive.

For the price this car is an amazing performance bargin, there is nothing else in the market that offers as much for so little.

Ahh Wagonman, welcome back.  Thanks for posting that.  You're absolutely right -- aside from the original author, you're the only one of the lot of us here that's actually driven the machine -- let alone lived with it for any duration of time.

I will reserve my complaining about its lack of AWD until the wonderful day that I get to explore the little Mazdspeed beastie for myself.

OK. Back on topic - sorry for the off-beat stuff. maybe.  :)

Agree with GD. FWD isn't for me either. Having a fun car is not about horse power all the time, or good handling and acceleration numbers. There are times you just feel like do something other than drive in a straight line, or simply rotate a car around, and around  ... FWD just doesnt cut it for me.  :)

An old pic from a year ago ... cheap fun in a cheap old car.  :)

Hmm. Maybe I should post a pic of the speedometer ... and show that the traveling speed6 was acceptable.  :)

Yes snowman I got your email!

I'll drop you a line when I have the Audi's. What year is your current Rut Ro? Might be an interesting piece I could do on winter driving and fast-tastic AWD cars or something. I think my A3 3.2 has that S-Tronic gearbox too. Let you know!

Pritch,

I now have a 2006 WRX Wagon with a COBB Stage 2 and AccessPort ProTune on the dyno at Neetronics in Toronto. A mild +/-300 foot pounds at the wheels.

I can’t wait for the testing session! :bounce:

I’m gone to Yellowknife from Monday to Thursday so we can communicate when I return. I think an article on Rut Ro II would be cool for the Sudbury Star Wheels section.......... Whitewater should be good and frozen…..maybe some shots of drifting on the lake would be cool! :D
