Europe will be getting the new CTS in diesel and wagon variants:

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/01/22/cadillac-cts-gets-diesel-power-in-europe-wagons-on-the-way/

We probably won't get the diesel here but I'm hoping here's fortunate enough for a wagon version.

Sat in one.

I thought it very striking in profile. This example was classy black, with just the perfect amount of chrome in all the right places. Stance is very wide.

Interior is a huge advance. Still not convinced it's as good as it could be, but it's certainly no longer a valid reason to reject driving or owning one.

The rear door isn't quite as much of an entry-exit problem as I feared, although not great either. Rear headroom with the huge sunroof is a problem for taller folks. Getting ticked at GM for redesigning their models with less and less space, and to me, if one thing Cadillac should do well it's comfort its occupants (even in sport models).

Had a weird shiny black 5 spoke aluminum-ish spare wheel in the trunk. Don't know if that's a Cadillac thing or just supplied on that one unit?

Don't think I'll grow tired seeing them on the road.

Does it look like the SRX interior?
Has there been many floating around the Oshawa?

Was the first one I had seen. They officially start production next month.

I wouldn't say it looks like the SRX interior. They seem quite different. I dunno, got into the SRX and had a better impression, but I'm sure that's also because it was roomier in the first place. The SRX has fantastic seats... better than they look before you get in 'em (think the backrest appears short, but hugs you well, while legs are well supported but not confined), I liked the wood and metallic accents (tho they don't flow as well as in the CTS), and overall feel. But don't think the materials are far off from each other, if that is your question.

The question was more like since the the 07 SRX was  a big improvement, did Caddy follow the same lines in the CTS

How could it not be better? A Saturn Vue or Chevy Cobalt have a much better interior than a CTS.

Myself I think the Caddi has the better of the interiors but thats just personal taste like everyone else. Not everybody will like the same vehicle or certain  parts of it as we all have different views on it. As I have driven Caddi's personally for the last 20 odd years I have found them to be a very comfortable and reliable car at all times over the years. I have not owned a CTS yet but have driven several of them in the past. I would like the CTS-V when its ready in 2009 as I beleive it will be a real screamer and well built as well.  :)

Caddy better get a new wheel designer because it's pretty much always a small variation of the same theme and they are ugly IMO. Shame after doing so much work on the rest of the car.

I think this car will sell because of its attibutes and not its look. The exterior design is better rounded (front now flows with the rear) but I was hoping for a sleeker design. That said, it'd be on my 2-3 car shopping list.

I rather like that.  i dont like the upgraded(?) interior in the hi-res pics with that horrible wood bit on top of the steering wheel... I may be retired but I neither play shuffleboard nor live in Florida.

As for the Wheels Ben,  I'd put the Snows on those and buy some nicer ones for the summer/3 season tires.  Cheap upgrade to make it look better

I'm glad they finally have a decent steering wheel in there now.

Agree those wheel-wheels aren't pretty. The high polished ones are better, but there's nothing overly stunning about them... multi-spokers like the SRX's optional ones would do the trick. I'm sure new wheels will come along. I hope.

Noticed the car's front clip is extremely low, even on the CTS4 AWD models. During winter drivers will be plowing. I haven't scoped out a new BMW 3 or 5 Series recently to compare, but thinking the CTS may be the lower of the two.

This should be a good competitor, but has an IS sized interior unfortunately.

It doesn't help that all the shots so far have been orange or red cars.  Those colors are rarely flattering (particularly orange) and just aren't right for a Caddy.  Black, silver, and grey would probably look much better.

Funny I also thought the OE wheels would make good winter wheels! It'd be a good incentive to get the nice ones back on the car as as soon as possible...

Nope. At least not yet. Release just says both transmissions are 6-speed, not that both are offered on both RWD and AWD.

Decent pricing. Love the exterior, but find it cosy inside especially in the rear.

Too bad because it would be a top contender when the time comes to replace the Speed6...

Definitely looks like one of GM's finer products.

That direct injection V6 looks sweet. And regular unleaded? :o :o :o

Why the hell am I paying a 11c / L premium for a 2.4 with 164lbft?
