Welcome back Wolverine. Today must be my Brazilian day. At noon hour I got a call from my Brazilian son in Sao Paulo and he tells me he is considering getting a Focus as well. It seems a tree got in his way last week and now he needs a new car. Good thing he isn't living here- the insurance bill would kill him. He is waiting to get news of his vacation and if approved he will be coming here for March.
Anyway welcome back and nice car....

Hi there inco, it's good to be back.

Good to hear that your son got out well from his encounter with a tree. Hope you can meet hiim soon.

Let me tell you that insurance here in Brazil is not cheap either, it could be cheaper that in Canada, but if you think how much we pay for cars here then you realize that the bill is way bigger to us.

I got the clay bar out and cleaned up the SRT-6. 19,600 miles on it.

I just sold my little Dakota R/T 5.9. I hope the new owner enjoys it.

Very nice and great colour!  Glad you popped in to keep us up to date. Also impressed with your history with BMW. They should be giving you some kind of award or something.

I see some of the old tribe is still around, but a lot of newcomers also, at least to my eyes. Thanks for the compliments.

The car is a 2018 BMW 340i xDrive, M Performance Edition, limited to 200 in Canada for 2018. Only 4 colors, of which mine is Sunset Orange Metallic. Car has the newer B58 inline six, with the M Performance Power Kit and Exhaust. Makes 355 hp and 369 lbft, torque down low where it is useful. Reasonably fast at 0-60 of about 4.5. No manual available, but has the 8 spd ZF auto, which is held in high regard, and being used in many other vehicles besides BMWs. Also has the Adaptive suspension, beefed up brakes, variable sport steering and other tidbits. Leather, Harmon Kardon sound, carbon fibre bits, 20" summer wheels (I run 18" in winter), head-up display (great!!), digital dash, yada, yada, yada.

It's a fun in town car, and a great hiway cruiser. Haven't had it on a really good road trip yet, but hope to remedy that soon. In sportier driving mode, the exhaust is particularly snarly and fun (never too old to enjoy a great sounding exhaust system).

We have had to stay in Kelowna over the past two winters, due to wife having a medical issue. After a lengthy wait, she has now had surgery in late January, and is in recovery period now. We hope to get clearance for her to travel again soon.

Cheers.

Congrats on the beautiful BMW.

Thanks for the comments, folks.

And Brig - hell ya, I'm still alive, only 75 in May. Lots of gas left in the tank.
