Just giving you an update...
I have had my VW Rabbit for 2 months now and it is awesome. I am a previous Jetta 1.8T 2003 owner and for those who know that car it had a lot of "kahunas" for a 4 cyl. So, for me to move in to the Rabbit was a little disconcerning but now that I have broken it in and have molded my butt into the seat they way I like it, it is an awesome car. Really fast (with triptronic you can modify how quick you need to be when passing) and it handles really well. More visibility so I find myself driving like a 16 year old again sewing inbetween cars like I used to. Great breaks. When I was in Muskoka visiting the parents over the holidays I tried out the ESP (electronic stabilization) and it worked really well on wet snowy (well, some snow) roads with super sharp curves in the road and lots of up and down hills in the road.
I have managed to save a lot of gas just by insuring that I keep the climate control on economy in the winter (when it fogs up I etiher turn it back on or turn on the defogger which turns on the air conditioner automatically).
I have had to change the way I drive and break with my foot because of how close the pedals are together. Most guys that get into my car have issues especially with size 11-13 size shoes (I have huge winter Sorel boots that cause me issues when driving because while I am tring to break I also hit the excelerator and vise versa sometimes) so now instead of pivoting my heal from pedal to pedal I have lift my heal and not have it rest on the floor to push the break. This is my only pet peeve so far along with the rattling speakers and bad radio reception (great sound quality with CD's & MP3's).
Happy New Year All!
